Every time I visit the Sacramento area, I make sure to get out to North Highlands for some awesome Cuban food at Sol Cubano. It is a small, family owned business with great service and amazing food. My favorite dish is the oxtail stew. It is so deliciously tender and flavorful. A few of the others I also really enjoy are the marinated pork, the Cuban rice, and the empanadas.

Great restaurant that serves up authentic Cuban food - rivaling what you'd get in Miami. My family and I went and got the sampler platter as well as other plates in the dinner menu. On the sampler plate, we really liked all the items, though I felt the croquettes were a bit bready. The tostones were fresh, crisp and delicious. I ordered the ropa vieja and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for Cuban food, it's definitely worth going here.

We visited this restaurant today and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent. We started with the sampler platter for an appetizer and coconut water. The sampler was exactly like pictured on the menu. It was all tasty and good. I had the Cubana sandwich which was very tasty. My wife had the ropas vejas which were excellent too. For dessert, we had the flan which was perfect and just the right subtle flavor you would expect. If you want great Cuban food, please try here. It is a nice little gem in Sacramento.

We were out on a business appointment and heading back home and decided to see what was different in the area and came across this place. The lady and gentleman here were so welcoming and friendly and everything looked and smelled so good. We decided to try a sample platter along with a few other things and just share. I love plantains so the this was a real treat for me. The meats were so juicy and flavorful in all the items. If you want a change to your routine this place is a good place to start. We both left full and happy and will be back again! They have some cool decor and it's so happy and bright in here too.

I just got back from Miami and was feeling like eating another Cuban sandwich. I found this place on google, and the ratings were enough to convince me to try it out. I had the Cuban sandwich, small salad, and slice of flan. The cuban sandwich was everything i was looking for. The bread wasn't too thick and was peefectly crisp and warm. The meat was juicy and delicious. There was the perfect amount of mustard and pickles to give the sandwich a nice sharp flavor. All in all, I will be back and highly recommend this place.

I wanted some empanadas, this led me to Sol Cubano. I ordered a chicken and beef empanada to go. They were both good, I liked the beef better. In the pictures you can see the spicy dipping sauce. Nice looking interior, good customer service, I need to come back and try some entrees.

Located in a small business, parking should not be a problem and the business is pretty easy to locate. I decided to give this place a try after seeing the other reviews and after having been to some nice Cuban spots in Southern California. I decided to try the Cuban sandwich which is one of my favorites to try as I travel around and know there can be some wide variations taken on the sandwich. I also tried the tostones rellenos as I like plantains and wanted to sample each of the different meats of chicken, pork and beef. I liked the beef tostones rellenos the best out of the group with the pork and chicken versions tasting rather bland. Sadly the Cuban sandwich for me was a let down, and would not even break my top twenty of the ones I have had over the years. The sandwich was basically a very thin lunch meat pannini, light on the meat. I wanted it to be a better experience but was not in the cards I guess. I will not be returning.
