Walked in and was immediately hit with a odor. sat down and was given chips and salsa in a dirty basket. Tried to hold it together (my husband loves this place). My dinner was served and i saw something stuck and nasty on the plate. I didnt eat. The final touch was The keyboard talent walking by and gracing me with a belch. He liked the dinner he had! We did spot a star. That was cool. And the people that work there are very nice and attentive.

Ooooh NOOO! The food was awful, salsa watery and lacked flavor. My entre was not the same as it has been for over 20 years that I've frequented this restaurant. Even taking family and friends always bragging about how good and authentic the food was.. (I'm Mexican). My husband ordered a shredded beef enchilada a la carte so I tasted the sauce it tasted like it was from a can. So disappointed as we traveled from the woodland hills area to studio city in rush hour traffic. If it hadn't been during that time I would've suggested we leave and go elsewhere. But we had the dinner paid and left. Today I called to talk with one of the managers (Hugo) and he said next time we come in the food will be free, but that won't be anytime soon. :(

When I was a little girl, my family ate at this restaurant. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is excellent. The service is stellar. I was a little sad for missing my family, and the waiter showed much sympathy. The woman in the front of the restaurant even took my picture outside for me. This is a wonderful place to eat! ❤️

Amazing drinks. Great ambiance. Probably the most American, bland fake Mexican food I have had outside of taco bell. Not disgusting but not good either. Just bland. Go almost literally anywhere else in California for better Mexican food. A shame because it's a beautiful restaurant with great service. But it's like everyone in the kitchen is yt....but from the UK and thus have never heard of the term "seasoning". Again the best drinks I've had. Their tamarind margarita is amazing. Go here if you want amazing drinks and ambience. But definitely avoid the food if you prefer things with flavor. This isn't Mexican food. This is the result of someone from the UK seeing someone eat Mexican food on the TV and trying to cook it from the image in his head with the least amount of ingredients and flavor possible
Ernie's is one of the most consistently excellent restaurants in the Valley--in a lifetime of going there for dine-in and getting takeout, neither I nor anyone in my family has had anything other than a positive experience. The food--especially the veggie fajitas and tostadas--is fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned, and the servers are attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. The restaurant is always clean, too. As someone with a certified service dog, I am beyond impressed with how Ernie's staff treated both my dog and me. The hostess asked only legally-allowed questions, and she and everyone else respected us, and let my dog do his job without distractions or hassles...and that does not happen many places.

The carnitas burrito was very salty. The guacamole, chips and salsa were good. Request less salt in your burrito. It'll probably be fine then.
