It's unfair to give any of the franchises a star. This used to be my go to place for a family to go dinner. Last week I decided to try the Nordhoff-DeSoto location driving away with 1/3 of my order missing! Extra Long wait for someone to take me off hold forced me to hang up and consume my now cold incomplete meal.... Fool that I am, I tried a different location on Winnetka and Sherman way. Very pleasant staff but once again a side was missing, chicken was salty (does the Heart Association still recommend them?) and my sad salad was swimming in water ....yucky. TY Yelp for making reviews available on the downfall of what used to be an almost healthy choices inexpensive option for working families. I only wish I'd read recent reviews where El Pollo squeaked out a slimy 2 -21/2 star rating. I guess I'm not the only disappointed customer.

Ordered the family meal. Door dash dropped off the food and yuck! Fed the chicken to the cats outside and tossed the rest. The containers the food go in smelled like nasty azz cheap cologne. The chicken even smelled like cologne! It's el pollo loco. You know exactly what the cologne smelled like. It was disgusting. Stunk the whole kitchen up. And it wasn't door dash this time. The bag was sealed. Won't be back for a while. I'll wait and hopefully Mr smelly azz cologne hands gets fired or leaves. Wash your effing hands people.

Be very clear when you order your food here. I ordered the double chicken avocado salad and they gave me the double chicken avocado tostada bowl. I asked them if the salad from the keto menu comes with tostada and the employee said yes. I showed that they were two different items on the menu and the employee got annoyed. Again, be very clear when you order so they don't give you the wrong item.

The absolute worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I ordered their buy one get one free pizzas online then they charged me for both. At the store they claimed the app had NOTHING TO DO with the company. Their own app. THEN she wouldn't refund me in the store and instead made a phone call to some guy I wasn't allowed to speak to named "jimmy". Wtf...he says my card will be refunded in 2 days. They don't give me my food and basically I just donated $20 to this shithole. The absolute worst experience I've had. I just wasted my lunch break, gas, and peace of mind on this nonsense and I'm still hungry. Never again with this place. An absolute 0 out of 100.

If y'all are gonna use the Boost app for pick up orders then can y'all use it efficiently? The app will notify me that the food is ready and then when I go to pick it up I see my boost receipt is hanging there on the ticket holder while my food hasn't even been made yet. It's very unorganized and you have to fight to get attention from the workers to let them know you're there to pick up. Panda Express next door use the same Boost app and are usually on top of it so Im assuming it's an El Pollo issue rather than the app. The food is usually good though.

My boyfriend and I find ourselves here at least once a week, our heart belongs to the double chicken tostada salad and the BRC (beans, rice, cheese burrito). He grew up with it, and introduced it to me when I moved here, and I've never looked back. Sometimes I also just love getting the chicken meals alone, I wish I knew how to make chicken like they do. And for dessert, you have to try their churros! PS, please consider bringing back your ranch dressing for the salad, we miss it

I like el pollo loco.... this is perfect for my grandchildren. It is fairly healthy and they absolutely love it

Their tortilla soup sucks. Looks like mush and the chicken In the soup is dry dry dry I got a chicken bowl and it was mainly rice and beans. It had 2 spoonfuls of chicken. Which is small compared to how much rice and beans there was Really disappointed I spent $10 for crappy food

This location is on the CSUN Campus! I didn't know that when I placed a mobile order. I tried for 30 minutes and I could not find it, it was on a road only for authorized vehicles, I even called and still couldn't find it with human directions. I tried different navigation apps too! They all took me to a permit only parking lot. I forfeited my $11 order and had to grab a sandwich at 7-11 for lunch! I ran out of time and was late for my movie! Uugg Don't order from here until you are on CSUN campus!
