I'm glad they're here in downtown Novato.When you enter My Thai (II), you are warmly greeted at the door and you get a lot of nice touches of authentic Thai decor. It is tastefully appointed and a great place to meet friends, bring family or even date night.Their staff is friendly and service is surprisingly fast (more on this later).Their selections are very tasty. We ordered Yellow curry, BBQ duck (yum!) as well as Pad Thai which are a favorite of my kids. The food is DELICIOUS with authentic flavors. Note that it is not as spicy as "true" thai cuisine but then again this is Marin County where most have no idea of what true thai spice is all about. Also I have kids and there's no way that they could handle that. However I will go back on date night and explore that option.When we ordered our food came out really fast. The place has several tables and 2 front of the house staff. I'm sure it might be different is it was packed on a Friday/Saturday night but we lucked out that day.My family and I were so impressed with the experience we went for it and ordered 2 desserts. Fried Bananas and Mango sticky rice. Both were were AMAZING!Although the competing Thai restaurant is nice, this place is a much nicer overall experience. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking it out!
We ordered the hot and sour chicken soup and pad Thai. We waited a VERY long time to get our food even though we were the only ones ordering. The soup was just ok, not special. And the pad Thai was a mess of mushy noodles with very little flavor and no spice.

Treated disgracefully, only after paying the bill. Will never go back or have my friends go there. They weren't rude until right after I paid my bill. I still can't keep the stuck vomit out of my throat from almost puking and it's still stuck. They were trying to be "classy" They're really showing me they don't mind hating people that look like me once the bill is paid and the back is turned. I rarely go out to eat it was a special occasion with a friendI don't value money over people

The food was great. I had cucumber salad, fresh rolls, corn cakes and Basil chicken. The food was fabulously fresh and tasty. I would give the place five stars and maybe six stars because the food tasted so great. But what detracted from the experience is that they had these Glad air fresheners plugged into outlets, which created a very industrial smell that detracted from my experience. Also, the service was a bit inattentive and slow. In summary, the food is great, but they need to polish up the experience inside the restaurant.

I will write my review while considering what to rate them. My husband and I came to My Thai for lunch today at 2pm. They close at 3. The man who works there told us to pick a table, we did and he brought us menus. When he returned to take our order, I told him what I wanted and asked what the soup was called in Thai. I had forgotten. But, he told me not to try to use Thai. He was pissy about it. But, he moved on. He rubbed us wrong. And, it was a little uncomfortable after this. Our meal arrived pretty quick. And, I have to say the Holy Basil I ordered was the best, I have eaten since returning to the US from living in Thailand. It was sweet and salty. The sauce coated my tongue with an oyster sauce, fish sauce, basil treat. The ground chicken was bathed in this wonder sauce. I also had the 'hot and sour soup.' This is called Tom Yum. Which, wasn't too hard to tell me. Anyways, it too was delicious. I am thinking he had a bad day. He was the only person serving the few diners in the restaurant. I'll give him a chance. I'll return for sure.
Great food, terrible service. I ordered about $60 worth of food to go and one of the items was supposed to be extra spicy, wasn't spicy at all. Went in to ask forchilli sauce and I was told they're not free, that you only get one per meal therefore I could only get 3 and wouldn't even be willing to sell me any more..!? Seriously? What kind of business is this that a client has to ask to buy your products and you refuse? (Also make sure to ask for utensils! As they aren't free either...)

We already stopped eating inside the restaurant because the service was terrible and the delay was too long and today we decided to order the takeaway order and we ordered it at 6pm we got there at 7:30 and it still wasn't ready, we waited until 815 pm. Advice Bad service and a lot of delay. Definitely not going there again.

Consistently great food. My favorites include the drunken noodles with chicken, pumpkin curry and garlic prawns with asparagus. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the serving sizes and cost. It seems the dishes are getting smaller as the price increases. It doesn't keep me from coming back. The Novato restaurant has better ambiance than the restaurant in San Rafael but it is small. I always get reservations if I am dining with more than one friend. The staff is friendly and prompt, and they usually have a good idea of which dishes to try if you have spicy/heat preferences.

the food was amazing. some of the best thai food i’ve ever had. the thai iced tea is the best thai iced tea i’ve ever had. the customer service was astounding and the servers were extremely nice. i would 100% come here again and I think everyone should give this place a try.
