The Elderberry House is such a fabulous restaurant in the greater Fresno area. In less than a hour's drive, you really feel like you're transported somewhere else when you're here - the grounds are so well manicured and have the stylings of an Italian villa! You really feel like you're in a different country! The service is absolutely incredible - personalized menus with consideration for dietary restrictions, non-pretentious and accessible service, and engaging staff all make it an incredible experience! The food is the best. The BEST! Everything is presented to beautifully and the wine pairings just make everything taste that much better! If the weather is nice, it's wonderful to take your dessert out on the patio and enjoy the outdoor scenery and lights. This place is my go to when I want to feel spoiled and indulgent, with without feeling like I need to look or act a certain way to be treated well. No snobbery, just good service and great food!

Oh my goodness, we felt truly spoiled by our experience. Wonderful food and exceptional service. If you can spring for it, I highly encourage you to try the wine pairing. Not only does it greatly enhance the flavor, it's impressive to hear the server's extensive wine knowledge. Beautiful place, but definitely spendy!

It felt like a treat just driving and walking up to this beautiful property! We went to the left inside to eat at the cavern. More casual instead of the pre fixe menu towards the right, but I'm interested in giving that a try in the future! The staff are very friendly and kind. They seem interested in giving you a good experience! We demolished the beef short rib plate, it was perfectly put together! We also really enjoyed the butternut squash bisque. This place is special!

We stopped in here to have a drink at the bar. When you walk in you instantly can tell that it's a special place. It feels like it was built 100 years ago. The bartender has the fantastic mixologist vibe. They even make Smokey drinks which my wife loves. I'm guessing that this has to be the best selection of both wine and booze in the entire town. The staff was also exceptionally nice. We are planning to come back for dinner soon.

Outstanding in every way. I've wanted to dine here for years but thought it would be too expensive, fussy or formal for my taste and budget. I was wrong on all fronts. We dined at The Cellar lounge, which offers more casual fare. The formal dining room offered multi-course meals, which is more than I wanted...this time. Everyone we encountered was extremely gracious, warm and welcoming, especially the bartender who gave us exemplary service. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed black truffle arancini, a beet, citrus and goat cheese salad, short ribs with polenta, kale and carrots and a Valhrona chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The service was absolutely top notch. Overall it was the best dining experience I've enjoyed in recent memory. We will be back!

I can't stop recommending this place to my friends! I made the reservation and stated it is for hubby's birthday, and they customized the menu with his name on top wishing him a happy birthday. When we arrived, they sat us down by the fireplace. It was so perfect and romantic. We chose the 3-course set, but they provided an appetizer from the culinary team before the first course, and a homemade bread in between the first and second course. The bread was a little crispy outside and fluffy inside. I couldn't stop eating. Every course was just flavorful and creative. They claim their style is French-Californian, but I suspect that they add a little Japanese style in their cuisine as well. Just subtle and beautiful. I especially like their warm hospitality. They surprised us with two chocolate tarts and a candle to celebrate hubby's birthday. We feel welcomed and cared for. We will definitely come back. It was a very special and memorable experience.

We have been anticipating a visit and dining experience for several years. The dining room is well appointed and the service by the bar tender (before dinner drinks), sommelier, and wait staff was very engaging, attentive, and with perfect timing. I have one opinion and one disappointment. OPINION; We ordered the wine pairing for both meals ($140) and felt a full bottle of wine would have been a better choice based on the portions we received for the pairing service. DISAPPOINTMENT; At the bottom of the menu in very very small print (4pt?) was stated a 22% service charge is added. Both my wife and I missed this aspect of the menu. I have two comments on this; for a restaurant of this caliber and amount of service charge, valet parking should be offered. It was raining the night we dined and self parking was not the way we wanted to go. When the bill was delivered, there was no mention of the included 22% service charge. Not hearing this and not seeing the minuscule print at the bottom of the menu, I added a tip of 20% which was on top of the already included 22% tip. The wait person never made reference to my mistake. Had my wife not suggested for me to double check the bill, I would have left a tip of 42% on almost a $400.00 bill. You do the math. Fortunately, we found the mistake before leaving and the bill was amended as requested.

This was a special menu for Valentines day. Overall there were items on this menu that were good and some not so good. The overall theme though was a tart flavor through all dishes. There was a couple stand outs but the main which was a duck breast was not very good. The skin was not crispy and the meat was tough, it left a lot to be desired. I found this place by looking online and seeing others rave about their steaks and seafood. I don't think this menu lived up to what other reviewers said. I may go back but only if I know the menu before hand. With a automatic gratuity also doesn't give you any flexibility to tip what you feel was deserved. For over 500 for two people it did leave a lot to be desired. I would not spend that again for what we were served.

For my wife, two guests and I; this was our first time to experience the Elderberry House. My guests have lived in Fresno for 60 years...they messaged me that this was the best dining experience of their lives. The signature drinks (for an amazing price of $10) at the bar, the ambiance, the food, the service...hard to beat!

A place with a deep charm, like a mountain cabin in Yosemite. How about feeling the grandeur of nature during the day and relieving fatigue with a cocktail here in the evening?
