The food & service are very good. I would love it if it weren’t so fluorescent.

Delicious food! Grabbed a taco salad and chile relleno plate, both excellent. Vegetarian friendly options.

I had some time to kill in Oakland and was looking for a quick bite. This came up on my search for taquerias nearby. I had a super vegi burrito bowl and couldn't have been more pleased! Everything was super fresh, and the vegis had lots of crunch. The beans were absolutely terrific! The young woman taking orders was new and a little unfamiliar with the input, but it was not a big deal at all.I will definitely be going back to eat my way through the menu!Dietary restrictions: Mexican is almost always a great gluten free option

Save yourself the stomach bug. I should've walked out as soon as I saw how dirty this place looks. I spent 3 days fighting food poisoning from this place. Avoid this place at all costs!

Thad a fantastic experience at Alma Bar Cocina in Oakland. Their tacos are packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. The owner makes you feel like a regular. Definitely try the fish tacos and the soup both were incredibly flavorful!

One of the most fresh tasting burritos I've ever had. Unfortunately I ordered pinto beans and they gave me black. On top of that, about 70% of the burrito was black beans. However, that is an easy fix and if you order there, leave a note of light beans or such. But there's a lot to be said when an order can be so messed up and still taste so fresh and good. Chips are way too pricey to get. They cost as much as a bag of chips from your local store. I've been in Oakland my whole life and all around California, Mexican food is my favorite food. This might be the best tasting Mexican food I've ever had. Can't wait to get an order at the top of their game.

Delicious, fresh food. The chips were crisp and freshly made. The tacos were also. Highly recommend!

I really want this place to be successful, but it's honestly been hit or miss for me. The first visit wasn't great. The tortillas were weird, with an unnaturally smooth, slightly gummy texture. I decided to try again, and they served up some really bangin' ceviche. Okay! Third visit... the chicken tinga was so greasy and mushy, with toppings that seemed mixed all together into a creamy, chunky sauce (ugh.) The tortillas were at least normal, though. But on that last visit, a worker stood in the middle of the food prep area sneezing their head off, and only covered it when I looked up... with their bare hand, with which they then grabbed a rag and started wiping surfaces down. I'm not a health inspector, but come on. You wouldn't even do this in your own home, right? Don't slack on basic food safety.

Absolutely delicious food and pretty unbelieveable prices for the high quality. Got a pescado taco and the huevos con chorizo and both were so good. Would highly recommend and I'll definitely be returning!

Woah. Don’t sleep on this one - it crushes expectation. The huevos con chorizo was packed with flavor (and huge) and the pescado taco was flawlessly fried.

Loved the green pozole and mole enchiladas. Definitely the best enchiladas I've had in the neighborhood. Empanadas are pretty tasty too. Also, I appreciate that we have another late night food option in downtown.

Best Baja tacos in east bay! I’m still thinking about it writing this review. Please don’t be intimidated by the lack of traffic there, the food is really good! Go support the local business in the area!
