Amazing food, delicious coffee, super cool atmosphere and a strong emphasis on local art/music. Awaken Cafe is a gem in downtown. I stop by every time I'm in town and it never disappoints. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself!
I love this Awaken place in downtown scary ? Oakland. It happened that I study near by and this place is a saver for my stomach ?I usually take half avocado toast - last time it was too little of Avocado though. I am wondering what is going on ? This is an Avacado toast and not a bread toast). However, the bread is delicious as well as coffee. Wide range of choice from classic to various tasty ones like Lavender latte.I believe they also have their own bakery and pastry is delicious...read full review

Got their coffee for the first time as my husband and I were headed out for a roadtrip through the Sierra Nevadas. It was the perfect start to the trip. The latte and pastry I got were delicious and even my husband who isnt much into breakfast and nearly never gets coffee enjoyed his order! Friendly stuff and inviting interior. Worth a drive over the Bay bridge if youre in SF!
