Me and my cousin actually went up there to order our food the woman that actually sure does have gloves. She refused to change her gloves. We asked her to put some new gloves on because she’s handling the money. I’ve been in restaurants before and I never seen somebody that never want to change your gloves because you’re handling cash if you’re handling Money that’s not clean. He’s supposed to change your gloves and wash your hands. She refuses Services and I always come there and go there. I never had a problem to check it out. I don’t recommend buying food not wearing gloves because it’s called bacteria and you don’t want bacteria in your food on your money and you’re still serving the food with the same gloves while you’re dealing with the money as well , you end up getting sick some gloves at this restaurant in Fruitville I gave it three stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Chicken Gourmet Express is a simple Chinese Takeout Place, I think they're cash only. There's a variety of entree options and meal options (e.g "fried rice with 2 entrees", "white rice with 2 entrees", "chow mein and fried rice with 2 entrees", etc.)I've been a couple times when I was in the area, I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way to get there. For a Chinese takeout cafe (like a Panda Express) I'd say it's pretty good. I've mainly tried the battered chicken stuff and veggies, but the entrees seemed pretty fresh.Sign of the times, a fried rice and 2 entrees was $13.40 (including tax), but it was a lot of food. Not trying to biased against Panda Express because sometimes it gets the job done, I like this place for a quick and easy meal.

So I went there for the first time a few days ago and what I will say is the staff was very friendly I don't like that they take cash only for some reason it wasn't taking my card and their ATM so I had to walk up the street to the bank so if you are going to go to this place make sure you have cash. I got a three item and I got spicy chicken and teriyaki chicken definitely will say that I like the teriyaki chicken rice and chow mein were kind of normal. What I will say about this food is make sure you eat it hot and fresh because this is not food that's good when it's cold or being warmed up the next day it leaves like a weird after tasting your mouth. I also got the pot stickers which they were good and I got chicken egg rolls which had a lot of vegetable and a little bit of chicken so if I do go back I probably won't get those again overall the food was pretty decent they give you a big portion and it was decently priced.

What the heck is with these bad reviews? It's not a gourmet place, nor is it authentic Chinese. But it's a delicious indulgence of Chinese American food. It's cheap and so good - just don't eat it everyday.

This is great food in the tradition of California Chinese takeout. You can dine in (at least before pandemic) but the place is basic clean chill. Always service with a smile and quick.

Here we are at another iconic East Oakland restaurant located on Fruitvale Ave near MacArthur Blve. just off the 580. Fruit and Mac, as they say locally. China Gourmet Express is certainly express, but not really gourmet. It's a fast Chinese food setup here mainly for take out by the locals. Been here for over 20 years! Parking is a pain as there just street parking and not the best of neighborhoods. The set up inside is sort of like a Chinese buffet, except you pay ala carte and you don't serve yourself. But you do get to see the food choices before you order. The menu options are ala cart orders of the food you see in front of you or combo plates (boxes) of various fried and sauced entrees, like sweet and sour chicken or pork, broccoli beef paired with chow mein or fried rice. Prices are reasonable for a quick meal after work and you just wanna eat and not think too hard.We got to go as that's the norm here. We had General Chicken, noodles with shrimp, and a couple of combo plates with I think what was Kung Pow Chicken and one with sweet and sour pork, both with chow mein and rice along with one of those fried crab rangoon things. We drove up to the hills to a park to try our food. Not bad .... decent quality for what it is. The food is already made in the steam tray so , no not cooked to order, but still, fast and tasty enough. Yes, this place does have character and represents a real locals Chinese to go place in an urban enviornment.

Decent amount of food for the price, total was $25 for these two plates but they stacked it with food. The servers are also nice and it tastes pretty good! Nice quick food option

Nothing special, but it isn't bad if you're in a rush for Chinese Food. Like other fast foods, it's salty and not that fresh, but at least you can get a larger portion of vegetables - if you choose.Does not take credit cards. They charge you for a bag even though they're told a bag is not needed.

Check ur order before you pay. I got charged for a 4 item plate when i only got 3 items. Also, you can get any 3 items for $11.75 or you can order the items alacarte from the steam table for $3.25 each for the small size and those are portions similar to what they give u on the plate. Do the math, save some money. As for the taste/quality - it aint never goin to be the standard of health that you need. Clinically this food is harmful to your body especially when consuming this regularly. But the taste is good, they got the right portion of salt, msg and sugar to make it happen. The orange chicken is a no - no where near panda express orange crak chicken.

Hot & sour soup is sooooo gooooodddd Everything else is very meh. I've eaten here several times since I live in the neighborhood but it is really cheap, has good turnover (food always seems fresh, people are always coming in & out)

I find it odd that so many people have a lot of negative things to say about this place lol their food is delicious and it's the only one we go to. Their portions are huge so I don't know why someone said they have small portions, their food is really good, and their staff is friendly EVERY TIME. They don't speak fluent English SO WHAT, geez if you don't like the place go somewhere else

This place sucks. I paid 9.00 for a couple bites of chicken. I could see they were loading the rice but did a baby spoonful of actual food. I tried to ask for more and they refused. I'm a petite woman. I eat little. She could've added a few more bites. I'm irritated.
