I can't possibly understand how this place stays in business. The food is impossibly bad. The only thing I can figure out is this place is laundering drug money. Seriously you don't stay open for a decade plus with zero people in the place I have walked by and eaten at this place and never seen another soul at a table. Creepy and crappy as hell.

Been eating here for years. Connie serves the best Mexican food I have ever tasted, period. Can't understand some of the comments here, esp "racist" nonsense. Very very unfair and even more untrue. People shouldn't be allowed to slander a business on Yelp. Connie is a wonderful cook and a delightful person. We should all be grateful she is in our neighborhood.

It feels like home! Connie you're the best! I ordered the Chilaquiles con arroz y frijoles, the food threw me back to Mexico's breakfast meals. Its worth every penny and let me not forget to mention her coffee. The coffee is sweet with hints of cinnamon and chocolate! Not one other restaurant bets Connie's authenticity. She's operated this restaurant for 27years!!! Iconic! Oakland spot check it out!

Food poisoning just waiting to happen.Microwaved meat. Unsanitary staff. Grimy kitchen. Got a burrito and a torta and seeing the cook prep the meal made me queasy. Literally microwaving old meat to go into the burritos. Nothing is cooked on site. I don't know how this place passed the Alameda County Dept of Health inspection.

Got a burrito on lunch break and flavor was exceptional at the average price of $10, thanks!

I really wanted to like this place because I love Mexican food and this place is very close to my apartment. But the food was just not good and the owner was surly. Will not be back.

Connie is such a wonderful person, chef, and owner. The BEST Horchata you will ever have. Burritos are huge and so delicious. Everything is fresh. I made a special point to come here to eat after moving away from Oakland over 10 years ago. It is one of my goto, favorite places.

I made a special point to come by and see Connie and make sure she is surviving the hard times the pandemic has brought on the restaurant industry. I haven't seen Connie in over 10 years since I moved out of the Bay Area.

This place is hella delicious!!! I am so sad that it took me this long to try Connie's. Her food is delicious and tastes like she made everything single handedly. In fact, she does it all herself. Please give it a try. I'm already regretting that it took me 11 years to try. Don't let yourself regret it. Even the back patio is cute Also, Ms. Tracy at the consignment store for single mothers down the street recommended that I try out our neighborhood joint. Thank you!!! Women supporting women own businesses. Also, I don't think Connie from Connie's is even on here - that's how old school she is. My partner and I finished our meals and Connie said, good job! Just like our Mama's taught us. Eat everything on your plate. I'm old school and so is my partner - we appreciated this place. Hope you do too.

First of all My server was rude as hell. My boyfriend and I wanted to grab something small to eat so we went there. I ordered a kids meal and she Immediately told me "Are you 12" like girl you lucky I don't pop your old a*** Anyways food was awful tasted like s**** My boyfriend ordered tacos de asada and they tasted so bizarre. So sorry to my Mexican family that I betrayed cause I ate there. Don't go.

My husband, baby and I ate dinner at Connie's out front -- and the FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! We live in the neighborhood and have walked by several times - always intending to stop by and I am so glad we did!! Connie is adorable, the food and sangria is delicious- we will absolutely be back. If you're not comfortable inside, check out the patio in the back!!!

The food is absolutely delicious and Connie is a lovely person. Please go there for dine-in, outside or take out, you will be happy you discovered this neighborhood gem! The epidemic has made it a daily struggle to stay open and we need her to because we are not sure if we can survive without her Chicken Tortilla Soup! We had it today!
