I am really getting tired of seeing these restaurants slapping tables and structures on the sidewalk and in the street. It's beyond ridiculous! There is barely a path to get through, and there are patrons blocking that path while waiting to be seated, what a joke! I really hope someone starts litigating against these restaurants. One of the greediest industries out there now using public land for profit, it's absurd! They already ask you to pay their employees, now they are using land that they do not pay for to profit off of, just pitiful!

Great brunch spot! I got the Savory French Toast with prosciutto and finished the whole thing. Will definitely be coming back to try more!

I just recently went to eat here for the first time, and I’m in love. I went for brunch. The ambiance is so cozy and warmly welcoming, as are the staff. And the food — so delicious. I had their matcha latte to start, and they use REAL matcha. Strong with a kick that you rarely find at coffee shops. I ordered the polenta bowl with apple sausage on the side, and also crispy potatoes on the side. Mouthwatering. Every bite was a delight. It was a chilly morning, so I sat inside but I can’t wait to go back and dine outside on a sunny day. Kudos!!

Wow! The Grand Lake Kitchen! Just dropped off a gas powered Hootstaller, and a full box of Crigglysticks to this Hobart T. Clubinstuffer chap that plans on using these for a May day event at Lake Merritt. Well, I sure hope he knows how to use that damn thing, because they can get pretty nasty if you rev um up to high. He was so happy he took me to the Grand Lake Kitchen, and I had the most Amazing French Dip sandwich ever! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Location is convenient and has a cool vibe. Seating available inside and out. They take reservations. The coffee was good and they have oatmilk as an option for creamer. The food has fresh ingredients, well balanced and vegetarian friendly. Wish they had more vegan options like tofu, just egg, plant-based meat and cheese.

Grand Lake Kitchen - Lake Merritt is one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Oakland, doubly so during Oakland Restaurant Week when they have such wonderful and affordably priced specials! There's a reason there's always a line out the front door for weekend brunch. You won't regret dining here!

Great vibe. I had the pastrami Benedict. It was great but i would have sliced the bread thinner and toasted it longer.

Breakfast at GLK LM. Always great. I'm stuck on Hank's Plate but my sister had french toast, which is great. I've had it. My bro-in-law had the Bacon Fried Rice which he raved about and I almost got. Very tasty coffee. Excellent service! Thanks May and David!

We have been going to GLK Lake Merritt since it opened many years ago, before it expanded. When GLK expanded, the quality remained consistent. My Americana Burger was perfect and always is. The fries? Crunch! I had a nice glass of the Rioja to pair with the burger. Nicely dry but not puckery. My partner had the eggplant parm and she really enjoyed it. We shared the cup of kale salad. Yummy and so fresh! I need to get to the GLK Dimond before the brisket french dip leaves the menu. Both places are five star!

Can't believe we waited so long to come here. Savory French toast was amazing! The prices were very reasonable for bay area brunch.
