I really enjoyed the spicy Chicken Tiki Masala and mango Chutney. The Naan Bread tastes fresh but is a little flat for my liking. Overall an amazing dish and pairing that would not disappoint
This place is hella good. Ive been in a while but food is awesome. Def homestyle cooking.
First time coming here. Wanted to grab dinner on the way back from a bike ride. Went to pay but forgot my card at home. The person at the counter was beyond nice and offered to let me take the food and come back the next day to pay. Overall very friendly and good food. Better service and interaction than places I've gone to for years. One wish is if they STUFFED the naan with onion rather than on top.
Guru Curry House is such a gem in the neighborhood! The Madras Curry is an absolute must! I've been to Guru so many times but the Madras Curry with chicken or lamb is always the best and most unique to me! Yellow style curry with coconut chunks. SO fresh and SO GOOD. Keep in mind that this is a Nepalese / Indian restaurant so some of the flavors lean more that way.
This may be the best Indian food in Oakland. I would recommend the chaat samosas--so bomb. The inside of the restaurant is a little weird, but that doesn't matter when you get takeout. Or just get tipsy at 389 or Bay Grape before, and you won't even notice. Super nice staff!
Went here for a quick dinner on a Thursday night! Not too busy inside (there's indoor seating) as most people were ordering out. Fortunately there was plenty fo space so I felt safe sitting inside. There's free chai tea in a quaint little chai corner (very milky, not too spicy, tastes similar to horchata). I ordered the mild saag paneer (spinach and cheese sauce) with basmati rice and my friend ordered the medium spicy veggie korma with garlic naan. It was delicious and although the portions didn't look huge, they were really quite filling. I don't eat too much Indian food so I was worried it would be too spicy, but honestly, it was delicious and not too spicy at all (re: I'm someone who thinks Hot Cheetos are HOT!)
Finally tried this place and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the chicken tikka masala, the chicken pakora, the roti, the garlic naan, and the ras malai for dessert. I loved almost everything I got! The tikka masala, pakora, and garlic naan were so delicious. I was disappointed in the roti and the dessert - They just weren't for me.
We had the lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, garlic nan, chicken biryani, and shahi paneer. I honestly can’t tell you which dish I liked best. So good
Love food and placeReally good ☺️
Definitely the best Indian food spot in the east bay area. The prices aren't too bad, especially considering the tastiness and flavor profiles of each item on their menu. I typically get garlic naan with palak paneer, coconut chicken, and lamb tikka. Their samosas are extremely well done as well, on top of the good sauces they offer on the side!
Great food and great service
Fantastic curry. I love it so much I eat here 1-2 times a week.
Best Indian food I've had in Oakland so far. Their flavors and spices are incredible, and everything (seriously, everything) I've ordered from here is super tasty!! Also, the man that answers the phone for orders is very nice and funny :)
Fantastic experience! I ordered directly via Yelp delivery and my food arrived hot, intact, and on time (come to think of it, I think it might've arrived early?) Rasmalai was perfect! Soft and tender with a perfectly spiced malai. Everything tandoori was also excellent. Can't wait to try again! I
Amazing food, great vegan and gluten free options.High quality food!! Don’t miss
