The food is great! The atmosphere gives a feeling of a jazz club without the jazz.

On 2/23/2024 at about 330pm I went to this place to try a new restaurant I found on Yelp. I walk in the place and there's no one to greet you. There are no signs to tell you where the restaurant is, so I had to ask someone where to buy a meal. I'm directed to what looks like a bar. There was no waiter/waitress so I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. People are looking at me but no one says anything to me or to a staff person to let them know someone needs is waiting to be served. Frustrated, I leave. A couple of minutes later I decide to go back and talk to what appeared to be a bartender., I walk up to the bar and the woman serving drinks sees me and says she'd be with me in a minute. She walks towards me a few minutes later and is stopped by someone at the bar who demands to pay his bill. She stops walking to me and takes this guy's money and forgets about me even though I'm still standing at the bar waiting for her!!! I'm left standing there.... again! Honestly, this is the worst treatment I've experienced from what appeared to be a Black-run business. No one ever wants to be ignored, especially by people of their own ethnicity and when I'm at a place trying to spend my money to support the business. I'll NEVER come back to this place and I will tell my friends to avoid it like the plague!

Never knew this place was here even tho I been next door at round table a million times. Had drinks and late lunch with my friend and really enjoyed the environment. I liked the catfish more than the pork chops, but both were good. We got there during happy hour so it got busy pretty fast. The bartender was sweet and attentive. I will return to try other items on the menu

First-time patrons. Came for dinner. Bar area was busy, dining room empty, but had nice fireplace that warmed the room. Hubby had tasty moist pirk chop, I had Tilapia picatta that was delicious! Prices were reasonable and servers friendly. We will be back.

Unfortunately, the food was not good. Some of it was cold and undercooked, which was confusing since it took 45 min. It was an odd experience. It seems we really didn't have a dedicated server. It was hard to get refills and attention. The food was brought out at all different times. With some attention to aesthetics it could have a really nice atmosphere if the exposed wires were hidden and the bathroom I used was cleaned and they put in towels or a working hand dryer. But mostly if the food had been properly cooked and fresh it would have made a big difference.

Before today, I last went to this place about 15 years ago. It was brighter, staff was friendly and attentive, and pub grub decent. Today, the outdoor patio appeared nicer and it had some fresh paint, however the food and service was dismal. We were a party of 5 and 2 arrived 10 minutes before the other 3 and ordered early - both their dishes arrived last in the group and 1 of 2 orders was wrong. The wait time for food was 50-65 minutes and it was an uncrowded Sunday brunch. Our dishes were spaced apart so we were not able to eat at the same time , very strange. Only 2 tables had people in the dining hall! The place was mostly empty, except for the dozen or so people in the bar. When the food finally did come out. It was undercooked and the potatoes were not warm. I ordered the crab omelette and for $20 I expected fresh crab. The crab was a strange color, was fishy (not fresh) and appeared to come from a can. I was starving and choked it down and felt nauseated an hour later. One other person on our table had the same dish and could not eat it. We ran out of water a couple times and "bottomless mimosas" and had to call over the waiter or find them to get refills. The front door was propped open the entire time (I tried to close it once) and 2nd hand smoke from people smoking outside kept drifting inside to where we sat eating. Midway through brunch, a woman started vacuuming the entrance. The bathroom was in sad shape, the soap dispenser didn't work, the hand dryer didn't work, the tall trash can was in the center of the room against the sink. We felt unwelcome and that the management did not care about their restaurant. None of us are going back. It's sad, it's a nice location with so much potential and the man that initially greeted us was warm and friendly. It was all downhill after we sat down.

First time there. I was just a random balloonhead who happened to stop in. All the regulars were cool to me. The staff was on point, and they know how pour a legit cocktail. Had a fun time talking with a couple of the regulars. We got an appetizer when my date arrived and the food was delivered quickly and was good.
