Probably the best Peet’s in the country and one of the better coffee shops in the east bay. It’s frequented by Lakeshore locals and offers an unpretentious space to chill near the lake that’s hard to find these days.

This was the largest Peet's, I have seen. It's still the same great coffee with friendly service. It was very busy, and the baristas were still quick and accurate with the order.

I found rude black African American guy. He was at cashier spot. He asked me what to order well before some other customer was on the speaking to him and still with him.

It's bad enough when the line to order coffee moves at a snail's pace but when the people behind you get their drinks before you and you mention it to the barista and he says oh sorry, (the excuse was not something I could understand or even cared about) but then continues making 3 other drinks for people even further back in line instead of quickly switching gears to make mine, that pissed me off. I started to go back to the register to get my money back but as I was walking away he called my name. I took the drink because standing in line to get $5 back seemed unbearable. Mistakes happen but then the save should be much better than that! The coffee here is always good, but the service...

This is probably my favorite Peet's location to do work, journal, and read in. It's spacious with lots of outlets and seating. There's always a good crowd that frequents, expect a longer line especially on Saturdays during the farmers market. Good and reliable place to stop in for a drink when you're running errands. As for drinks, my favorites are the oat chai latte, iced hibiscus tea, and hot mint tea. Cons: Parking is a a bit congested since it's a central location and shares a parking lot with Trader Joes and Walgreens. The bathrooms is not always maintained. I've also had 1 bad experience with a manager being terribly rude. I try to be understanding that it's a busier location, but scolding an employee and then being rude to customers under pressure was not okay.

I visited Peet's Coffee today to have my drink remade. I wasn't rude or upset; it was more of an inconvenience, but for the $8.10, it was worth the 2nd drive out of my day. The cashier was pleasant; however, the barista, a relatively young woman who presented as white with colored, frizzy curls in a clip, was insolent and standoffish when her colleague handed her my drink. She began questioning me, and initially, I thought she just wanted to ensure my order was perfect. So, I calmly requested that my drink be warm. To my surprise, she became agitated, pointing out that it was an option on the menu. Her reaction took me aback, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I replied, "Yes, I know it's an option, but the drink was scorching hot." Instead of acknowledging my feedback, she decided to ignore my comment. She turned to the mobile order screen and began browsing through the list of drinks; all the while, my latte's milk was steaming. Then, she asked me, "Did you order it from this location?" I responded with a sense of perplexity but confidence, "No, I ordered it from the Oakland Hills location. Is there a problem?" She said, "No."She handed me my drink without making eye contact, almost as if I had been rude to her. Nevertheless, I smiled and said, "Thank you," and "Have a good day." She chose not to respond. Peet's, you need to improve not only your products but also the abysmal customer service I experienced today. Especially in a progressive place like Oakland, I expect far better than this subpar treatment.

Just be careful the employees like to accuse someone of stealing then keep them from leaving and threatening them go to star bucks on Lake Park Ave they won't do any of that to you some guy was being stopped this morning and they gonna call the cops and we don't play that here employees can't stop people once they are out of the building and the employee was not wearing a name tag when they should be show the customers know the employee name if something like that ever happens .

This place has gotten better since their policies have returned to normal. I had stopped coming here and returned to Starbucks because two of their staff members refused to give me hot water for a tea bag that was purchased the night before. In addition, they had a gregarious woman screamed out loudly that I had purchased that tea bag yesterday. It was purchased at 7:30pm. I buy the large tea and save the 2nd tea bag. They refused hot water and I had to get the water from Starbucks. I guess they returned to their original policies so I have returned and study there. Although, I study there, I always wipe off their tables and chairs with a sterile wipe.

Classic coffee on Lakeshore, great service and strong coffee. The location is awesome and inside is very nice with different seating options and cool people. Lakeshore has become kinda sketchy tho, there was an attempted smash and grab across the street and a car was broken into in the lot right outside the coffee house. It's not the fault of the cafe in any way but if you go there be aware of the risks. I'm a long time resident of Oakland and it pains me to write this but the truth is what it is ??
