I had been under the weather with a gastro bug but my appetite was returning and all I wanted was Pho. I found a place close to my hotel and had beer and Pho. The pho was medicine to me and my soul. Such a full of flavour broth and grea noodles. I felt medicated and feeling even better when I left.

I like the food here. They have so many options of food. I usually want to order atleast 4 different things but end up doing 2. Ive had their pho. It's very delish. I absolutely love the salt and pepper shrimp. My go to is the claypot and a side of egg rolls. The rolls are hit or miss. But i do order them everytime . I ordered the stir fried calamari today. When it came, it didn't look appealing. I asked to wrap it up and to see the menu again. I ordered the claypot

Excellent little place, lots of items I wanted to order such as Watercress Salad were no longer available, but the grilled pork and imperial roll over vermicelli was extremely generous, tasty and hearty. The rolls were amazing, actually. Vermicelli served warm and I prefer it cold, but still great. Priced at under $10 bucks, deal! Viet iced coffee is also delicious. Service friendly and quick, you have to ask for the "real" chili paste as they only have sriracha on the tables. All in all 5-stars for the experience, especially outside San Jose.

Solid vietnamese restaurant by my office, whenever I am craving a rice plate or some pho. Everything is pretty good, and nice that they take card with almost every item on the menu under 10$. Rare sight to see those prices in a downtown anymore, so I would stop here if you want to fill up on a cheap yet, tasty meal.

Great Vietnamese restaurant near Frank Ogawa Plaza, and I had a taste for this place today. I called in the order to be picked up, and when I arrived, my order of Chicken and String Beans with Steamed Rice was waiting for me. My meal was very good, as this was not my first trip there and it definitely not be my last.

I had to give one star, because Yelp didn't give me options to not give a single star. This was first time there and it will be my last. I ordered a Singapore noodles #69 on the menu $9.25 for lunch. It was the world worst Singapore Noodle ever!!! I didn't even know what that was. I tasted Cup of Noodle that was better than that. May be other dishes on their menu are better, but I'm not going back there to find out.

I frequent this place quite often. Today was not a good day. Ive had the pho, clay pots, and rice plates. Never disappointed until today. I opted for the rice plate with grilled shrimp, french rice, grilled chicken, and wings. It also comes with an fried spring roll. The rice was dry as ever, my shrimp was over cooked and the grilled chicken lacked in flavor. Needless to say the only thing that was edible was the wings and the spring roll. Service was very slow and they were not busy at all.

Visited this establishment the evening after the Warriors victory celebration and parade had died down. The place was so empty we thought it was closed. I peered in and peeped a child playing in the rear so we pushed our way through the doors, figuring that the owners didn't forget their kid and go home. Empty. Totally empty. Did we make a mistake? We did not! While there are other Vietnamese food offerings throughout the Oak-town, it's worth coming to this place for dinner. Because of it's location Phuong Nam gets pretty busy for lunch, but not much attention & love in the evening. Does a quiet dinner in downtown sound good? Yes it does! The food is 'home-style' in flavor. Café style. Not Temple Club style. (Not the noise either). Our food was tasty and flavorful. The employees that evening (probably most evenings b/c they're slower) were mostly family members: two brothers and a sister-in-law, with the Mom doing the wonderful cooking. I love patronizing a place where a family is making a living cooking their cultural food. That Mom can cook! The offerings are straight forward. Not fancy, but also not plain. The place was very clean too.Tasted the popular Yelp recommendations, and they were as described. As the former Governator Ah-Nold once said: "Alll Be Baack!"

Specious and nice. The servers were courteous, the food portion was generous, and the price was inexpensive! Glad to find this place. BBQ pork was a bit on the sweet side but ingredients were very fresh. Highly recommend.
