Great place when you trying to just go get a hot cheap Play the barbecue plate and you can't afford Everett Jones or my brother over there on a 105 th Rue Rue barbecue tastes pretty good too. Better than all the other ones. I taste it. Pretty close to Everett Jones barbecue ?Parking: Brookfield always packed the corner of a Brookfield across from the 76 gas station.

The barbecue is a little bit overpriced when it comes to tri-tip and links, but it was good But not the best. Could you A thicker sauce I think that will make a difference and for 1 tray shouldn't be $40. I've also tried their fish Basa, and it was seasoned. Well but it Be softly cooked. I think I need to ask him to fry it a little bit longer for the thicker pieces.

I didn't expect this place to be inside a Mexican Market. The food was really good I order the tri tip sandwich with onion rings. I also ordered 2 chicken strips I wouldn't order those again. They were still cold in the center and kinda gross. Their menu has many options.

This place has always been a favorite of mine. Until yesterday, I hadn't patronized in about a year. I just so happened to be passing by and the you could smell the smoke. It smelled amazing. So of course I go to purchase, my usual Beef link lunch extra potato salad with hot bbq sauce. I actually purchased 2. 1 for my daughter, we both were so disappointed. The links were dry asf! (Overcooked) and the potato salad SUCKED! ( too much dill). I don't know if it's new owners or new cooks. But it definitely doesn't taste good. I don't think we'll be going back.

My buddy and I were starving after running errands all day. Since we had to stop by the Oakland Zoo, he suggested we stop at Champion for some BBQ. I had never been to this area even though it's blocks away from the Oakland Airport. I ended up ordering the tri tip and ribs combo and it came with two sides so I got the macaroni salad and potato salad. The sauce is what makes this BBQ stand out! The tri tip was amazing! Soft and easy to eat and oh so flavorful, I would definitely order this again. The ribs were a bit drier than I would have liked but still flavorful due to the BBQ sauce. They have their own private parking lot and food came out quickly but like most places, be aware of your surroundings and take any valuables with you. They are also a market so pick up drinks before you leave! There wasn't any seating as far as I could tell.

This is a market that sells grocery items but it also has BBQ, fried chicken, fried fish, and even turkey tails, little did I know. The man at the register told the guy making the BBQ plates to give me some turkey tails to take home and try. I must warn you that this place is located off 98th Avenue in The Hood of Oakland, some of the people outside look sketchy, or there outside begging for money. Sometimes the food is 50/50, I suggest that you go early in the day. Me and my babe go here on occasion when we are in the area and don't want to eat fast food. He likes the chicken and links combination with potato salad or the macaroni salad, and I usually will order the combination of ribs and links or sometimes the ribs and tri-tip with baked beans and potato salad as well. You can order lunch, dinner, or combination plates. When it's smoked to perfection you will not be disappointed. One of the best BBQ spots on this side of town in East Oakland.
