I ordered the two plate combo. I am from out of town, so sadly I won’t be able to come here again unless I decided to take another trip to the Bay Area. The Rogan Josh was cooked to perfection, with tender chunks of meat simmered in a rich and aromatic sauce that had just the right balance of spices. Every bite was a delight, and I found myself savoring each mouthful. The vindaloo, on the other hand, was a spicy masterpiece. The heat level was just right for me, adding a nice kick without overpowering the other flavors. The tender meat soaked up the tangy and fiery sauce, creating a dish that was both satisfying and exciting!

I walked in expecting a restaurant. Instead it's a cloud kitchen (a kitchen cooking meals exclusively for delivery apps) that has some tables and chairs set up. I will say the food was great, but if you're looking for dinner in go somewhere else. They require you to order online, then let them know your name on the order. Then when they bring the food it's in to go containers like you ordered delivery.Nothing wrong with this model, but it's just like ordering door dash, might as well not try eating there in person.

Food wasn't good at all. Had the okra dish and chicken tikka masala. The chicken dish was probably the least flavorful we have had around the bay area. The squarish chicken pieces were rough and the flavor didn't seem like what we are used to for a masala dish. The okra dish had very few pieces of recognizable okra and came with bits and pieces of other potential veggies.

Tried the box combo with rice, tikka masala, baingan bharta and naan. The naan was really good and tasted freshly made & soft. The tikka masala was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Baingan was good too but ofc not as good as the tikka masala. I asked for it to be spicy and it lived up to it! Overall 5/5 and probably now my go to Indian spot in the area.

A Spicy Culinary Delight at Taava KitchenLocated within Forage Kitchen on 25th Street in Oakland, Taava Kitchen offers a culinary experience that is nothing short of exceptional. With a solid 5 out of 5 rating, this shared kitchen space is the perfect destination for those craving quick bites infused with bold flavors.During my visit to Taava Kitchen, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Chicken Tikka Naan, a dish that exceeded all expectations. The combination of tender chicken tikka nestled within warm naan bread was a true delight for the taste buds. For an extra kick, I opted to add jalapenos, further enhancing the dish's flavor profile and adding a satisfying level of heat.Next on the menu was the Biryani, a classic Indian rice dish that did not disappoint. Opting for the lamb protein choice, which is halal-certified for those with dietary preferences, I was treated to a fragrant and aromatic medley of spices perfectly infused into the tender meat and fluffy rice. Paired with cooling raita, the biryani provided a harmonious balance of flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied.Overall, my experience at Taava Kitchen was nothing short of exceptional. The quality of the food, coupled with the welcoming ambiance of the shared kitchen space, made for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or craving a spicy culinary adventure, Taava Kitchen is sure to impress.Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5I highly recommend Taava Kitchen to anyone looking to add a little spice to their life and indulge in the vibrant flavors of Indian cuisine.

Definitely the best Indian food in all of the Bay. It's mostly a to go place, but there is some seating including a nice outside patio area. If you come on a Saturday, it's next to all the galleries so view art and eat well. It shares the location with a wonderful Jamaican chef. Try the stuff naan, best daal takika imaginable (made fresh to order) and the Rogan lamb. This will become your favorite Indian restaurant.

The pictures oversell the ambience and quality of food. The Chana was fine but Pakoras and Bhature were over fried and inedible. It's some sort of cloud kitchen for multiple restaurants, and not a sit down place. So, all the food was packed in to-go containers even when sitting down. Would not recommend or visit again. Too bad because I came all the way from the north bay, trusting the yelp reviews.

Only reviewing food, ordered with Doordash. We ordered two curries, both tasted great but had way too little protein. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tasty, but it only had maybe three small pieces of chicken. The Paneer Makhani was on the tomatoey side, could have used more cream, and, again, it only had very little protein, maybe 5 small pieces of tofu. This was kind of interesting, most Indian places I find tend to put too much protein in their dishes, and I really like the sauces. This one erred on the other side. A bit more protein, and maybe a little bit less salt, and it would be amazing.

This is the best South Asian food in the East Bay, maybe tied with Vik's. They have Nepali food, too, not just Indian & Pakistani! We had the fenugreek leaves with paneer, and the chicken keema paratha with the chole bhature. All delicious. Staff are awesome and Nepali.

The best food you will find in Oakland. The owner Ash is a very very passionate guy, and the quality of food is fabulous. It's my go to place to bring all my friends when they visit town. Get some beer, get some food and eat it outdoors! 10/10 would come back.

The food is cooked to perfection in every aspect! The food Taava Kitchen is made with love from its chefs. The owner also treated us very well and polite, we enjoyed eating at "Forage Kitchen" just because of his food. Overall, great food, great people and decent price; plus they also have very lovely outdoor seating.

Food was super yummy, fresh and affordable. Great value, especially with Oakland prices nowadays. Got my order for takeout but the staff let me eat inside and made me feel taken care of. Also, their spicy food is actually spicy! I had the saag paneer and chicken tikka masala but Excited to come back and try other dishes.

I’m an UberEats delivery driver and this restaurant on the last day of the January during an atmospheric river storm event rated me 1 star for my behavior during a pick up. This thumbs down rating caused me to lose my benefits as a driver and go from 95% satisfactory to 94% satisfactory because their pick up instructions are inappropriate and confusing. Whoever is behind the screen managing online orders is being an internet troll needs to be fired immediately. I walk in one person says one thing go here another person says another thing go there.

I have only had the samosas and saag with chicken, but my mind is blown. I said the highest spicy, and it's trying, but it's not too much. Just perfect. This is my, hands down favorite Indian restaurant in the Oakland area right now. The spice and ingredients are next level. I cannot wait to try more items from the menu.
