We finally tried Cafe Rosarita. We ordered take out and the restaurant was packed on a Sunday night. The clientele seemed a bit older. Maybe they all congregated there after a function, or it was a discounted night. Either way, it was busy. The food was not ready so I waited at the cashier stand awhile. The decor is kitschy and the restaurant a bit run down. The woman running the register seemed to have the process under control. After a 5-10 minute wait we were off with our food, only to be disappointed when taking off the lids. The portions were small and the food was not very tasty. The flavors were not robust and fresh like I am used to of the Mexican food in this area, and we have tried a number of places in O'side. Our food was just blah. It could have been an off night due to the crowd in the restaurant, but nothing that we ordered warranted a second chance. I had the chicken Nachos and my spouse had a combo meal that came with rice and beans. Definitely a matter of personal taste, but we won't be back. I will say that the customer service was very good and staff was friendly.

Excellent food in a quiet family setting. Off the beaten path of trendy, expensive restaurants in downtown Oceanside. This lady has perfected family recipes for you to indulge in.

A very pleasant surprise. I've probably driven by this restaurant a few hundred times. It's near the Frazier Farms on Oceanside Blvd. Close to the car rental place. This isn't a taco shop, or a fancy restaurant. It's a family owned, nicely decorated Mexican restaurant with really good food at reasonable prices. We were met by a pleasant lady that offered to seat us. On this day we did take out. I ordered the beef chile Colorado burrito and my mom had the pork chile verde burrito. The portions were generous the beef was tender as was the pork. This is definitely on my list to return to.

For Oceanside, this is the best Mexican place, but good from any where. The server was so busy with a party of 12 next to us + other tables, but still remembered everything we asked for and nice about it. Dog friendly, brought us water bowls. Top notch for us on that! Really good Cadillac margaritas, but the Cabo ones are good too (they have a little orange citrus to them). Their side salads are good and bigger portioned. My wife loves their fajitas with steak, chicken, shrimp or combinationI and always get their desserts, which are all great. My brother ordered Panizza too at the waitresses recommendation, and really thought it was great. Read more

My mother regularly made chicken and cheese enchiladas using Rosarita enchilada sauce when I was growing up. They were always a favorite of mine. I totally found the restaurant by chance while looking for somewhere to buy the sauce to make my own. Now I don't have to cook them myself. I can order them from Cafe' Rosarita. They're cheap and delicious and all I have to do is order them online and pick them up.

First time visiting here, as we are passing through. For a Tuesday night, there were quite a few customers - all of them seemed local, except for us. Service was wonderful, with a smile and patience while we worked out the menu.Food was very good, served on VERY hot china plates and we used proper metal cutlery - really refreshing to find a place that doesn't rely on single use plastics. If we were staying longer, this would become our favourite place to eat.Thank you.

Although this place is close to home and convenient , I won't be going back. Mexican food is my favorite dining out, and Im easy to please. As is my father and husband. The waitresses have been a little rude in the past, but this last visit was too much! Having had a mother who was a waitress , and being a server myself in my 20's I know how to treat wait staff. And tip. Goodbye to the rudeness here and the mediocre food.

Simple yet yummy Mexican food at a good price. The service was good and the space is adequate--nothing fancy. It also can easily handle large groups.

I've been going here with my family for 25+ years. I've tried pretty much everything they make, nothing disappoints. I defy you to find better, fresher guacamole.

This was our 1st time eating here and will not be our last. The food was fresh and tasty and everything you would expect from a good Mexican restaurant. The salsa and chips were wonderful. I had a fish burrito and she had a chorizo burrito. They were served wet with green, red or tomatillo sauce. The guacamole was fresh as well. And the bill was surprisingly reasonable. The staff was attentive to our needs.

Fast service and nice ladies. Free chips and refills. Pricey for size. Haven't eaten yet. Update: Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. 27.00 for small lunch left my husband hungry. The search continues. But nice ladies!!
