The food was terrible. The meat was burned and so dry but worse it smelled like helicopter smoke. The vegetables tasted like they were boiled in old water it was just horrible. You get a tiny scoop of rice from a literal small ice cream scooper. Mostly cabbage and vegetables. I'm sorry but for $11.00 can I get rice and meat, it was pure unseasoned gross soggy vegetables not even steamed but boiled in water. I went in for a BBQ BEEF bowl not a soggy water boiled vegetable bowl. BATE AND SWITCH BUYER BEWARE!! And when you pay the cashier kiosk will ask for a tip for doing her actual job. I tip when people actively wait on me at a table. Taking your order is not a tipping entitlement it's your hourly pay job. Ridiculous like if the food isn't pricey enough as a payment. If you're going to ask for a tip wait on me at an active table no waitresses just entitled people taking an order like Burger King ITS YOUR HOURLY JOB YOU'RE NOT ACTIVELY WAITING ON ME . I do not recommend!! Burnt meat that was packed with sugar but mostly vegetables clearly boiled in water with NO seasoning! GROSS!!

Delicious chicken katsu and excellent service. We stopped by this location on the way to Laguna. It was absolutely wonderful. Bought extra to bring back to San Diego - just because this location was so amazing.

Absolute Trash!! The food was bland and overly priced. Almost $25 for a two entree plate and a canned drink. I will never return. Complete garbage!! Save your money and bring a bagged lunch.

They got the order wrong, sent us to the wrong store after placing our pre-paid order that I placed in person for later pick up at this location because they noted our name incorrectly. They had no remorse for causing a 1 hour delay for a surprise party due to their mistakes in location and providing the wrong food. We tried talk to the manager to resolve this issue and she was unreachable. Do not recommend this location at all.

Wow...I'm still in shock small drink well they only have one size $3.50 I chicken plate $26.38 extra macaroni salad I can't not only is it expensive I have been feeling sick since vomiting...stay away keep a high alert on the macaroni salad smell it...my daughter sick too..
Always has great food! BBQ mix plate is probably my favorite next to the Spam Musubi. Customer service at the San Marcos store is really good compared to the Oceanside location. They even have larger portions. They have all the condiments at your disposal.

So excited to find an L and LWe had the food delivered via Grub Hub it came as expected was packaged great and nice and warm. Garlic Shrimp first of all it is always better when tail removed but not all places do this, but hey where was the garlic butter? I only order this dish to clog my arteries and unfortunately today the garlic sauce delicious as it was, had been put on so sparingly you hardly knew what you had. Next up Chicken Katzu curry,this is a huge portion and definitely plenty for 2 people but once again, where was the curry? For the price increase we should at least get our chicken covered with curry. Finally the Masubi hands down delicious and no complaints. If you like Masubi this is definitely the place to go when not on the Islands.

I'm Hawaiian on my mamas side, and my sister treated us to dinner here. I wish we hadn't ordered our food to go, or I might have been able to appreciate their take on whatever they were calling Hawaiian style food. The teenager at the counter crammed everything, including a paper cup of tartar sauce, onto a big wad of mushy rice and chopped raw cabbage for all the meals. I felt bad that each dinner seemed ruined, and at 19 or 20 per plate they could have made sure the entrees were appetizing. We only live a mile away, each container was smashed and kinda gross. I don't ever remember eating mayonnaise macaroni or soggy fried tilapia when the family got together. Please stop calling this Hawaiian barbecue. Instead of a mound of badly cooked rice just serve a smaller portion!

Unfortunately I was used to the Hawaiian food in other San Diego coastal towns before moving to Oceanside. This doesn’t compare in any way and all of the front of house staff was downright rude and careless, despite me tipping 30%. Food wasn’t even cooked properly, sauces just slapped on top and was disgustingly undercooked. Won’t be returning, my mistake for thinking all L&L locations are equal or Homestyle Hawaiian wasn’t an absolute gem in Bird Rock.

No surprises here, consistently delicious and filling. A taste of home at a decent price and I have leftovers for later. So good. Service was island friendly:)Andy nice to watch the game on their tv. My friend loved her Pork- it was tender and juicy. My bowl-Steamed rice, juicy burger patty and traditional gravy washed down with a Hawaiian Island style soda- I like the mango, btw. This is a family friendly place- just like home
