The food is amazing my husband and I eat here every week! It is our favorite Japanese place of the dozens we've been to. The cucumber salad and baked salmon roll are my favorites and my husband loves the fried California roll and beef yakisoba.

I ordered the food to go. It was actually amazing even after getting home from a 15 minute drive the food is still tasting fresh. All the flavors are there I ordered the chicken Yaki soba with the dragon roll 10 out of 10 would buy again and they will be receiving my business once more.

I really don't like leaving 1 star reviews. This place is sad. I was in the area for a work meeting and had a casual night to myself. I wanted something super casual and walked by this sushi spot. I decided to give it a try. I don't think the sushi was bad sushi probably 3 stars for the sushi maybe even 3.5. What really knocked this place down for me was the service, aka the misery of the man who works behind the counter. I walked up to order and said hi, he was silent. Seemed annoyed and overall really unhappy. After I ordered I saw my food sitting for over 5 minutes while he did nothing. There was only one other table so it was confusing as to why he let the food sit for so long. The food comes in to-go packaging even though I dined in which definitely makes it feel cheap.

My wife and I love Sushi. We stopped here on our vacation to Oceanside and loved it. It's delicious, affordable, and a nice clean space. If you are looking for good Sushi this is the place.

Even in Oceanside, I realized that the spicy taste of Jin Ramyun is true. I was really grateful for the service, perhaps because I am Korean. I can feel the affection of Koreans from across the Pacific.

Food (4/5 stars): Umi Japanese Grill & Sushi is a solid spot for cheaper sushi in Downtown Oceanside. I went with the Salmon Crunch Roll because I'm always craving rolls with spicy mayo and shrimp tempura. I wish there was more spicy mayo and the salmon didn't really stand out. Overall, it was a pretty good roll for a reasonable price. Experience (/5 stars): * Price: reasonable * Wait Time: minimal for a party of 2 for Sunday lunch * Service: good and friendly * Parking: street parking is free but can be difficult * Ambiance: it's a simple restaurant

Just look at my picture. Super depressing. If there was a slight chance I was going to take my life and this meal was the deciding factor. Consider it my last day on earth. Pathetic calling yourself a sushi restaurant.

Gyoza seemed burnt. And sushi didn't seem fresh. The fish seemed at least a few days old, and we were ignored from our waiter
Food is decent and affordable, been going for a few years here and there. Service is always disappointing (they seem almost annoyed to have you ordering, never smile) although they did give me a free bag of chips with my meal once.
