I had tried the food truck some time ago and the burger was good. I do have to say I did not get the same experience at the restaurant. This was a disappointment. Maybe if they focused and specialize on a set menu and worked on perfecting it, there quality would be consistent. I can't keep up with all the changes and menus. Maybe not trying to much will work better. I really wanted to like it after giving it another try. Hopefully, they figure out what will work best.

Excellent food once you wait about 30 minutes to receive it. Any talking with those you are eating with is near impossible because of the volume in this restaurant. Poor host girl responsible for clearing and setting all the used tables, clearly overwhelmed. Salad boasted a special Ranch dressing, never got it. Had to walk to the bar to get a refill on my soda. This place is over it's head, not enough staff is the main issue. Once again-great food, but there are so many other frustrations that we won't be back.

Food is delicious, I've been there several times and have yet to be disappointed. Its a bit pricey but you get what you pay for, high quality food with a good atmosphere!

You know it would be really cool if your vegan Burger on your menu had an actual vegan BUN!!!!! Instead of lettuce wrapped! That's not a Burger that's literally just a patty with more lettuce. You have lost local customers. ??

I took my parent n laws here for dinner and we loved it. It's clean, cozy and the staff is friendly. Looking forward to coming again and trying something new. Oh yeah I had the mexi Cali burger Yum and my mother n law has the fish and chips. She's a picky lady however she loved it.

I went recently , and the staff was friendly. They did let me know that you pay before you dine . Its understandable since unfortunately some people do dine and dash. I got a burger and it was a good size, it was good but a bit salty . The staff was really nice. And the location was very clean.

My favorite place to eat in the central coast. I wish they were open every day. But everything I have had has been perfect

I was hungry. It was 4:00 pm and on a tight schedule so I decided that a burger joint would provide me what I needed. The Shift was around the corner, it had 4 stars and from all the information provided on YELP it was all I needed. The decor in this joint was clean, fresh and welcoming, a yellow/grey palette with accents of blue a designers playground. We walked up to the counter and encountered someone from Holtville of all places so that was a sign, a good sign! So we decided to roll with the valley experience and order the Mexicali burger and a local Brown Ale. The place was a bit slow but the country tunes kept us in the game until our food arrived. Our Mexicali burgers arrived and made a visual impact and the arrival of the fries completed the duo. The first bite of anything should be an experience to remember or at least that's what I always look for and expect. The first bite of the Mex burger was equivalent to sticking my head out of the car window and getting a full mouth of nothing! The one outstanding note was a sour one, the apparently canned chiles on the burger were about as sour as a lemon and as off putting as a rerun of the 18th season of Grey's anatomy! I was hoping that the side of fries could bring me back to par but even the fries were just fries. I did finish the burger and fries only because I was hungry and searching for a decent bite of something. At the end all I found was some country notes from the music that was playing but the food just offered a plate of sour notes and a full mouth of disappointment! My advice is to drive a bit further and get some In n Out or if you want to know what a real burger should taste like then drive to Santa Monica and get a Stout burger extravaganza! The shift needs to shift to second gear because you are riding on first gear and ruining your engine.

Fabulous fabulous food not to mention the cleanest restaurant I've been in a mini mini years. Right here just has to come in to Orcutt California on the right hand side everything is homemade everything from the tortillas to the shrimp cocktail everything they do is fresh fresh fresh anybody living close by come here you will thank me.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Loved the poke nachos and the cheese fries. Super cute place that started as a food truck. They are doing it right. Great food and fantastic service. Kendal and Sophia are pure gold. Coming back for brunch tomorrow!!

Disappointed with the quality of the dinners. Over cooked and the hamburger patties were small in size. Perhaps it's because we came late in the evening or perhaps it was the Cook. Four adults and three kids came to over $160. Should have been special. We are talking burgers and chicken wings.

We had given up on this place after a very disappointing Friday night date dinner a few months ago. Came back today and it was absolutely perfect. The poke tuna salad that had practically no tuna on it last time was the best I have ever had. Everyone so friendly and they have Chardonnay now. Definitely will be back. Thank you!!!!

It isn't too often we visit Santa Maria, but this was a nice little spot to visit. The Shift was a well kept, clean dining restaurant with good customer service. Food options were unique and different from your basic eating options. I had the chorizo burger with a side of fries and a coke, and it was good! My wife and daughter enjoyed their meal as well, and we were spoiled by the milkshakes they made. Super good!! You do have to pay for water, that was the only negative about this establishment. Everything else was great! Come check out the Shift Food Truck! It's worth it!!
