As a food critic and chef I try certain items first. I had hot and sour soup. Was not done correctly. They used no egg and a ton of pepper. I love spice, but not pepper where pepper has no reason to be in something. Next drinks were so small and so high in price I feel no matter how they try?Staff was friendly, but had no clue. Just so you know I have made the soup hundreds of times and bars are never that expensive.

This restaurant is the only place in Oxnard/port Hueneme area that you can get authentic and tasty Chinese dinners. Through the years it has gone from dine in to only take out these days. So before these recent days the restaurant was large,clean plus a full bar. The service was a little slow back then but the food as always was worth the wait.

At 5:30 on a Friday evening, it may be a little early for the party crowd, but we expected that we could at least get a good Chinese dinner. Not so at Chinaland. The two guys at the bar seemed well taken care of but no one even acknowledged when my wife and I entered the restaurant. One star is being generous.
