I absolutely love this place it's a gem in Oxnard. I've grown up in Oxnard my whole life and have been eating here for over 20 years since I was kid. My family and my partner's family have eaten here for generations.The food has definitely changed, but changed to make the food healthier in my opinion. It may not be some people's preference anymore because people have different taste buds and some people don't like change. The portions are always plenty. The food is delicious and I'm happy to continue to support this restaurant for another 20 years and bring my kids as a rite of passage in Oxnard. Thank you golden chicken inn for the great food and the generational memories my family has had thanks to yours.

Honestly ever since this place got bought out and the previous owner retired, it's garbage!!!! The food is horrible and has no flavor. The portions are so much smaller and everything tastes just awful. This place used to be a hidden gem in Oxnard and now it's just a giant disappointment. The only good thing I took away from this is I learned how to make egg drop soup since they don't even have eggs in theirs. Honestly, if you want good Chinese food, this isn't the place anymore. Avoid it. The only thing good here is the young lady serving because she's on top of everything. If only her service could fix the food... ? We used to come here as a family all the time and now... it's not even worth the space it's occupying.

It’s not like it used to be before the Covid and now it’s lost there taste of the food! The table was not closed well and besides two other people waiting on door dash to deliver we were seated by the window. I ordered fry shrimp that was tiny and not the larger ones and over cooked, bbq ribs were very dry, egg drop soup had no flavor, the other dishes weren’t really tasty at all and I was very disappointed with the food that I didn’t want to eat but packed up the food and paid close to $100. I will never return to this place and I don’t recommend this place

I haven't been in quite a while, at least a couple years. I went yesterday to get the Chicken Foo Young I always loved---it is NOTHING like it used to be. No egg at all, no bean sprouts-- just 2 doughy pasty flat fried dumplings where you used to get 3 patties full of veggies in a lovely gravy. Was told it changed ownership last year. I WON'T be going back, what a disappointment!
