Came here for an early dinner mid week. Service was friendly and attentive, we were checked on frequently and servers seemed caring and happy. Nice outdoor dining area with heat map and a fire pit.We had the:chicken teriyaki best box with tempura- tempura was disappointing, the batter was more akin to fish and chips type batter-it was thick and the oil used was probably old or needed to be changed. It was not good, but the portion was generous. The chicken was ok, nothing special.Sukiyaki: broth was tasty, a bit too salty but the veggies and noodles were good.Avocado roll, spicy tuna roll and futomaki- too much rice, and just off-reminded me of sushi from Whole Foods-not bad not great.I wanted to like this place more as it seems very well liked by others but just missed the mark.

An unassuming location for good sushi. This restaurant is a great little spot for quality sushi with excellent service. Although this place is small, they manage to provide efficient and attentive service to more guests than it seems possible. I came here with my wife and two kids a little after 5:30pm on a weeknight. The place was already busy but there were a couple of tables left so we did not have to wait. There were a few seats at the sushi bar as well. But shortly after we were seated, new customers kept coming in and a small wait list was starting. My wife and I both opted for the sushi dinner with an assorted 7 pieces of nigiri along with our choice of a Maki Roll; there were many to choose from it was tough to decide. I narrowed my choice down to the salmon skin roll, and it was great. The meal came with soup and salad as well. We also started with an order of the fried calamari. My kids ordered a few different cut rolls. Everything was very good and the service was wonderful. Between the three servers they made sure we had everything we needed and promptly cleared our table of any unwanted dishes. Overall this was a very pleasant dinner experience and I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Ordered delivery and it was subpar sushi (couldn't finish eating it; it smelled and tasted off) and overpriced. Menu should also be explicit about how many sushi pieces come in each roll- a few we ordered had less than we expected.Vegetarian yam roll was tasty.

Wow what a magical place.Crazy little sushi. The sushi is excellent! Very special options on the menu.Light atmosphere and fun to sit inside. We were in the evening so I'm sure that at earlier hours the place is open and it's nice to sit outside when the weather is good. The hours of operation are indeed very short, but very worth it!

Unfortunately, their rolls were not fresh at all! You could smell it upon opening the box, and they tasted stale. Although they were deep fried, they tasted like the ingredients and fillings were old and re-made, then rolled up in the rice and deep fried. We wouldn't return here again. We purchased the PG and firefighter rolls along with seaweed salad (only dishes that were good enough) and mixed tempura for $53. Also, what's the deal with the mega sized rolls? Just no!

Went here the other night and all I can say is FRESH WASABI! I had never even heard of this but my date introduced me to it...and boy what a difference from processed wasabi. Maybe all sushi places have this, idk...but I'll always remember this place for it. Definitely worth the $3. We had miso soup and a couple rolls. Amazing! Service was fast and friendly even though the place was crowded at 730pm on a Wednesday night. Super cute old house turned into a restaurant with an impressive collection of saki cups on display. Reasonably priced for sushi too. We will be back. Try the fresh wasabi!

The quality of both the sushi and salads was truly outstanding, far exceeding my expectations. The shrimp tempura was cooked to perfection, offering a delightful crunch with each bite, while the unagi was flavorful and tender, making each piece a memorable experience. The ambiance of the place added to the enjoyment of the meal, with its warm and inviting atmosphere. This was further enhanced by the presence of amiable and engaging servers, whose friendliness and charm contributed significantly to the overall dining experience.Parking: Parking was a little hard to find.

Great service, food, and quality. We live away from Monterey but the drive is always worth it when it comes to getting great sushi here.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is great when you eat there and order online or Togo. The service and staff are great every time I come in, definitely recommend for anyone in the Monterey area.

Great prices, fresh, delicious sushi, very nice natural light inside, within walking distance of the aquarium / cannery row, very fast service considering they appeared short staffed. What more could you want?

Worth the wait, which is common since they don't take reservations.

Really great sushi. Massive selection. They need more space, but they make really good use of the space they have.
