El Rodeo Cafe was great! The food?Delicious. My wife and kids loved it. I got into the al pastor burrito, and it hit the spot perfectly—cooked just right and the ideal size for lunch. Plus, those chips with not one, not two, but three kinds of salsa! The service was top-notch. They got our food fast. And parking was great. Literally parked right out front, no fuss at all.Seriously, if you're on the hunt for some solid Mexican food, you've gotta swing by El Rodeo Cafe. Whether you live around the corner or you're just cruising through town, it's a must-visit.

I have recently been to a rodeo twice in the past month after working down the street for two years and oh my God I've been missing out! First time I got chicken and carne Asada tacos. Both were great and serving sizes were enough for breakfast and then later lunch that day at work... Yes, I crave tacos for breakfast. Tonight after getting out of work very late, I placed an order to go and I got a Carne Asada burrito and... it's perfect... just enough spice without needing hot sauce, but not too spicy, lots of flavor but not to salty, fresh, balanced ingredients AND it comes with pico, sour cream and gauc, which is nice because I love all 3 but usually forget to order it. I am writing this as I devour the second half at midnight. What more can I say.. I ordered the most basic of Mexican foods and I have eaten at many other Mexican restaurants in the area, but the flavor in these was literally just perfect. Also I ate the remaking pico with a spoon it was sooo good! The restaurant is very nice too, much larger than I realized and while it has the charm and quality of an authentic "taco shop" it also has a nice ambiance. I look forward to dining in the restaurant and ordering a Chavela in the future. I wish I would've remembered to try this place sooner because I could've avoided a lot of wasted lunch breaks trying to decide what to eat that was quick affordable and nearby. Lastly Id like to add that working on El Paseo, I regularly get asked by tourists for the best Mexican restaurant nearby, and I often hesitate, because personally, I prefer the small hole in the wall spots like this versus the hyped up restaurants on my street(which btw no disrespect respect to those establishments, I just prefer the smaller spots when I just want some good Mexican food and I say this as white girl who has lived in socal her entire life and is very opinionated on what good Mexican food is )

The tortilla chips could have been better but the salsa was flavorful and spicy and fresh. My eggs Rancheros where nice as well.

The food and service were good in a cafe atmosphere so a bit noisy at times.

Had a post-workout breakfast, generous flavourful avocado topped omelet served with delicious seasoned rice and plain refried beans. While waiting for our order we were served complimentary chips w salsa and an excellent tomatillo sauce. We ended with churros, fresh and crunchy. Only request that was not fulfilled was hot milk for cafe con leche, only cold milk was served. Friendly server!

First time there, food was good, service too. The waitresses were very friendly. Prices were okay, got a little steep with the combos. The ckn burrito was not very big. My friend ordered three a la carte tacos at $4 each, he loved them. He asked for flour tortillas instead of corn, no problem. After, when the bill came, we saw that an additional .75 per flour tortilla, was added on because of switching. "Dear Servers, say something when additional charges are added." I've lived in Southern California for 32 years, I've eaten at 8000 mexican restaurants and that has never happened. LOL. Why?? Did the cook have to reach over here . . . instead of over there? . . . WTF?? Then my friend was charged .50 for using a credit card. IN A RESTAURANT??? Another WTF??? You mean they couldn't eat .50 to sell a $30. lunch?? That's supposed to be the cost of doing business. Holy El-Cheap-O! It's those little things that can make or break my chances of returning, and we won't. I felt bad for my friend because it was a sour ending to something that was being enjoyed. For anyone that thinks this is nothing and it was only small amount of money, I say, yes, exactly, which is why I wrote this, the decisions by the owner were cheap, stupid, arrogant and a poor business practice. F'em.

We love this place. We always pickup food and the wait is never longer than 15 minutes. We’ve also taken our kids here because the service is fast and it’s nice to sit outside. The chilaquiles is so spicy but so good.

I called the restaurant to let the manager, Jesus, know that my friend and I got very sick for two days after having lunch there. He wouldn’t take my call. If there are issues in the kitchen, whether it be food quality or cleanliness that is affecting diners, wouldn’t the manager want to know?A health inspector from Riverside County did confirm food temperature violations and substandard hand washing habits.I just want to warn you of my experience and suggest you take a peek at the kitchen before you decide to dine there.
