Best food in the palm desert I came here after a camping trip and felt as if I was in a desert oasis. The food was delicious, I licked my plate clean (I got the cheese fries with chili) and the service was excellent! I will definitely come back to this islands whenever I'm in the area again.

My wife and I showed up with our new born and 1yr old after seeing the good reviews. We got the worst server we've ever had. We had Renee as our server. She was rushing back & forth and didn't give a chance for us to ask for anything after taking an order. Noticed 3-4 other tables having issues with her service as well (taking plates w food too early, noticeably annoyed with an elderly couple, rudely explains to a family why their orders were taking long) She brought our appetizers 30min after ordering, then brought the sides to our entree 10min later without the actual entree, said she'd be back in a few mins and had to go looking for her after 15min of still no entree (just the sides of fries getting colder) Finally got the main meal after asking, brought them real quick like they'd just been sitting there. Cut into my burger and it was basically red. Asked her to please take it back and take it off my check, she gave me a forced apology and didn't really attempt to offer me a renewed order. I was hoping she'd offer me something else so I can eat with the wifey but nope. But wait there's more... Ended up asking for the check and boxes to go, she offered a bag as well to carry the boxes in, we said yes. Came back for the check, took like 15min for her to come back with our receipt, we were eager to leave at this point. my wife asked if the meal was taken off, Renee says "yes, I took it off because he didn't like his meal" yea that's totally why I sent it back Spent an extra 10min a waiting for a bag but she never brought it lmao Basically don't go here, wasn't crazy busy, Renee is a horrible server, bad attitude, rushes you on everything, will forget your food. Everyone has bad days but damn lol and if you don't like dealing with people don't be a server I guess coming from someone who was a server prior to this...

Our server Angie was fantastic. We visited this Islands three times in our weeklong vacation in Palm Springs because our teenager decided she adores the cheese fries. She and my husband also love a good pink-inside burger and Island's menu says all of their burgers are served pink inside. Well, not in practice. We asked for medium rare when ordering but received well done. That is, until Angie was our server! She served us twice (remembered us from the first time) and said she would ensure the burgers were pink. She gave us great service and has a fun and hospitable personality! Shout out to Angie!!

We just came in for a happy hour beverage and snack. I think I'll repeat that anytime I go to Best Buy from now on. The Passion Fruit iced tea is great ad so are the nachitos. Thumbs up!!

We frequent this location about once a week, and we are always impressed with the food and service! Specifically, the food is consistently fresh and delicious. Additionally, we always ask for our server, Angie. She is a true asset to Islands as she continually remembers us and our order. Thank you and see you soon!
Islands isn't the same restaurant it was 20+ years ago, but it works in a pinch. Staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean. But, the Shorebird had a thin piece of chicken (maybe 1/2 the size of days gone by) and the price was now over $16 for the Shorebird sandwich. Fries were lacking flavor.

I had not been to Islands since I was a child. Angie truly made our experience one to remember! The food was fantastic and complemented the great service and atmosphere. Everything came out as ordered, but what we were most impressed by is the fact that Angie was always one step ahead. I never once had to ask for a refill of my drink, nor did I feel like I missed something to enjoy my meal. I highly recommend the Palm Desert location. Thank you Angie for taking care of our group, with such a kind, friendly, customer-centered attitude. What a great flashback!

After getting told the computer system was down at John's restaurant further up the street (rudely I might add) this Island's restaurant was a sight for sore eyes. Got seated immediately in a booth & our waitress was friendly and attentive. Food came out fast and was delicious! Can't go wrong getting the burger lunch special! My Mainlander spicy chicken salad was delicious. The restaurant still has that old school surfer charm as it was new to me back in the 90s, it's cozy and welcoming environment. Definitely keeping this in mind next time for a quality quick lunch.

My husband and I went in to celebrate my birthday. Server was Jared and he was great. Food was amazing and the place has become a date night favorite. Asked for a manager just to check on the alcohol serving size and prices. I'm a server too so Sorry if I scared you Jared. You were amazing.
