Yes a hidden gem. Good breakfast and lunch. My favorite place when visiting family in Bermuda dunes. Staff is great, food good and nice environment. 5stars.

We stumbled into Karen's Cafe during a recent trip to Palm Desert, and it's a new favorite! All of our breakfast items were amazing, from the biscuits and gravy to pancakes. I have been spoiled and do not want to have pancakes anywhere else ???

No way this place has a true 4 1/2 rating. Food was below average. They are "known" for their breakfast and they made both dishes incorrectly. Then the older lady, possibly the owner, claimed that she had told us that they were missing an ingredient. We told her we would remembered if she had said they don't have mushrooms if we were both ordering it. She could have said sorry I didn't communicate that with you. She was very rude. Food was bland. We had to add spicy sauce to make it edible. The table and chair were dirty when we got seated. There was hair on the chair and sauce on the table. I should have said something but didn't. Also, when she grabbed the plate from the back to bring it out, she wiped something off the plate with her finger. So there were a lot of warning signs of the level of restaurant this was. Do not believe the rating of this place.

What a delightful high quality meal! Karen's cafe is wonderfully managed and operated. Service was A+. The food was A+. I will eat here often when I return to Indian Wells.

I recently tried Karen's Café in Palm Desert, and it was amazing! The food was delicious, especially their burgers and fries. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were super friendly—I felt right at home.
If you are looking for a simple old style diner, this is a great place! Food was good, cooked the way I liked and the staff was super nice and and helpful. I recommend.
