Food was ok. The starters (tomato salad and mushroom tart) were better than the mains (barramundi and rigatoni with short ribs). Service was very rushed which is better than being too slow. But it felt fast and not relaxing. Also the plates were too small for the main dishes. For example, my fish was hanging off the plate. But the chef is skilled and for Palm Springs, it's above average (barely)

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Freddies. The ambience is warm and unpretentious. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by our server. Shortly thereafter, Freddie emerged from the kitchen to welcome us and then returned to his kitchen to cook us an amazing dinner of elk medallions and escargot. I would highly recommend Freddies to anyone wanting a great French meal.

Another excellent meal at Freddie's Kitchen. We were happy to see they had the steak tartar for the appetizer special. Was disappointed they didn't have the pork chop entrée special, though!

The chef was very friendly and helpful. Small and well curated menu. Nice wine selection. Felt like we were in a neighborhood French bistro. Prices were very reasonable given the quality of the food. Well done Freddie, we'll be back!

It was a Valentine's Day's day dinner with high expectations. Upon arrival, awkward. No music. Just dead quiet despite the folks already dining. Wait staff were perfunctory at best. Food was not as it was when it first opened. I was a huge fan then. Not now. Took 10-15 minutes to put in a drink order. The menu wasn't properly explained. The amuse bouche, an escargot was lovely, but dropped of with no explanation of what it was. The fish was dry and not tasty. The decor was uninspired for Valentine's Day. We were handed a red back with 2-poppyseed muffins and a few Hershey kisses on the way out a strange gift. It was just a miss. Not sure if I would go back.

Small out of the way restaurant. Small menu but good variety. We had the special roasted duck and the Elk medallians. Both cooked perfectly. Sauce complimented these dishes. The Heirloom tomato salad and the French onion soup were tasty. Great wait staff. Small but very good wine list.

Seems chintzy at a fine French restaurant to charge $5 for a “bread basket” which had six dinky slices. The steak tartare was not served with anything so we got a $10 charge for the bread!

Always enjoy Freddie's. Baramundi and elk were excellent. Appreciate that the chef is hands on and approachable and friendly. He and the waiter make you feel

The entrees were mixed: cassoulet wonderful, barramundi too salty and not well prepared. Appetizer was good, as was the desert. The wine by the glass was fine, but only one red and one white selection. The voluble chef acted as host, conversationalist, entertainer, rarely left the small dining room. We would have preferred a bit more quiet.

A great date night for me and my husband! I had the Steak Tartare and Roasted Duck. The Steak Tartare came with three types of oils, and the Wasabi with Truffle Oil was an amazing complement to the Steak Tartare. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and it was wonderful to get a wine recommendation right from Chef Fred Pierrel himself.

Wonderful evening and very good food. The team was a bit short staffed but Mario (our waiter) was great keeping us informed as to when our dishes were coming out. The chef Frederick was terrific!

Just what we needed, hot, fresh tasty food after a long day. Barramundi was cooke to perfection! Drinks, lively. Listening to Piaf…

Wonderful authentic French food. I had the duck special which was served with roast vegetables. It was delicious. French onion soup and escargots were also delicious. My husband had the short rib rigatoni and enjoyed it too. Portions were good, larger than the average "fine dining" portions. All food was served piping hot, so kudos for that, nothing worse than cold food. Service was great and Chef Frederic visited with all the guests. It was a Sunday evening, so not super busy. I could see this place getting really loud if crowded due to the architecture and decor, but that seems to be the trend these days. Background French music was very nice and not too loud.Parking: Street parking convenient

Disapointing and too expensive. $200 for 3 people.Escargots were good but onion soup was way too sweet and seved with no bread. Rigatoni were average, sauce was too sweet again and meat fatty. Caesar salad boring and anchovies too salty. Mushrooms were good.Waiter was very friendly.Bad vibe/ambiance, no music. Decoration inexistant. Loud owner.
