Great food great service. The Mexican fare actually tasted like authentic Mexican flavors, the salsa was excellent. The food came out very quickly. Cadillac Margarita was very tasty. Will definitely go again.

First bar we hit after checking in our hotel around the area, it was around happy hour so we got a good deal. Owner is the bartender, wife is the host. Gave us tips on how to do it the first time, good 1st stop!

We ate outside on a Friday night and had the most delicious dinners. Sizzling Fajitas, cheese quesadilla, and tacos. All was served quickly. It's such a cute spot and we always enjoy eating at Rio Azul.

We went for the first time on Saturday night. Seemed pretty busy but we had a reservation. The hostess Adri was very sweet, friendly and efficient. Our waitress was Bernice, she was also very kind with prompt service and good suggestions. Food was good, I had fajitas. Forget what hubby had. Will definitely come back!

Great restaurant! Super great food and very friendly staff! They give you free chips and salsa. The menu is great, from plan beef and cheese tacos to fajitas to burritos. Great outdoor patio? Highly recommend for

Short version: OK but better are available in the desert. Have wanted to try for several years, but now that I have sampled, will probably be a while until I return Arrived on time for our reservation and were greeted and seated promptly. The ambiance is a bit strange. Not sure what was here before Rio Azul, but I am guessing an Italian restaurant. Throw up a couple of touristy Mexican hats and voila, you have a Mexican restaurant We started with margueritas which were well sized, but tasted lackluster and were served in plastic glasses. The salsa and chips were very good and the salsa had an excellent banance of heat and depth of flavor. Food was very good with reasonable portions for the price. Flavors were excellent. There were lots of shrimp in my wife's dish. The woman who was tending to the water made multiple rounds to our table to refill or top up our glasses and she was very pleasant. We didn't see our waitress until the end of the meal when she showed up with the portable card reader which had the total for our meal on the screen. An itemized bill was not presented. The waitress hovered over the machine while I punched in the tip, a definite turnoff. Perhaps the staff should be trained in the appropriate edicate. I realize these are fairly new to the US, but the rest of the world knows that you present the bill to the patron, he will decide if he or she wants to pay cash or card. If he pays by card, the server steps back or away for a minute until the patron completes the transaction.

The only problem I had was arriving to find that all of the main dining room booths had been removed. Totally changed the ambience of the space and it to me cheapened the aesthetic of the restaurant. The food was good as always, the service was good. The table was for four people but seemed tight and constricted, as well as a fan blowing against my back from the doorway behind me.

Great good and service. Table side guacamole, diabla fish ensalada, tacos, chicken enchiladas were all amazing.

Everyone in our group was pretty satisfied except this reviewer. The tacos were great, the burritos were enjoyed. My dish arrived incorrectly but once I could get my server back, she took care of it quickly. I did not like my dish at all. It was awful. It was a shrimp enchilada floating in a sloppy sauce that I could not scrape aside. The best thing about my dish was the refried beans. It was a shame. I can't recommend this restaurant but it was one of those times that I just ordered poorly and I want to repeat that everyone else enjoyed their dishes. You win some, you lose some. There was live music which was fun.

The food was good, but not great. The ambience was low. The service was pleasant and reasonably efficient. I would not discourage anyone from going, but I personally would search for someplace else.
