Authentic sushi experience that I was looking for in Bay area. I am definitely coming back for more.

The Chirashi dish is out of this world good! I went back two days after my first visit, I just had to have it again. The prices are on the high side, but that dish is worth it! Truly fantastic. And the staff are very friendly.

I heard that Steve Jobs liked to stop by and ordered eight pieces of sushi and one piece of tempura udon. The fish on the sushi was so-so and didn't feel very fresh; the rice was hard as if it had been cooked overnight, without the sweetness and elasticity of good sushi rice; the tempura udon noodles were above average; overall, I gave these two stars to the service and atmosphere. .

Excellent food with great service. Sushi was excellent and the food arrived very quickly. One suggestion-since California St. in Palo Alto is now permanently closed, the restaurant could note that on their website and suggest parking choices also.

Everything was good but nothing wowed me. Decent fresh sushi for the money so not walking away upset. We ate at 5:30 so wasn't packed yet they told us to order quickly because they had a lot of to go orders. Since when does a restaurant prioritize to go over actual patrons in the restaurant. They must have sensed my slight annoyance at that because the food came quickly and they said they made or order first. First time eating there and not much to say aside from it was a solid 3 stars overall.

I always order the chirashi bowl from here and it is SO GOOD! The fish is always amazingly fresh and everything is so high quality. The service is good, they are always super fast with my order. The environment is clean and the chefs are always super nice!

authentic, delicious Japanese food. we got udon side (it's big!!) and soba side (also big!) unagi sushi, tamago sushi, agedashi tofu, corn tempura (big enough for 4 people) the salmon main dish didn't look great, kind of dry, disappointing the miso cod was delicious

The cod entree was moist and flavorful but the wild salmon was way way overcooked and tough. I don’t remember ever eating salmon that more overcooked than this. Sushi rolls were average and not worth the price.

The menu features a variety of sushi and traditional dishes, all presented beautifully. While the freshness and quality of the food are notable, given the high price point, one might expect an even more exceptional culinary experience. Jin Sho is a solid choice for Japanese cuisine lovers.

Everything seemed stale, pretty sure our order was made entirely from yesterday's leftovers. Fish looked dry and tasted "fishy" (that fishiness that comes with spoilage), ginger and wasabi style paste were dry and crumbling.

Always a busy spot for a reason, fresh and tasty nigiri and sashimi selections.

Jin Sho was good, but I was expecting more. The food tastes delicious, the service was fine, the ambiance was ok. Overall, there was nothing bad about this place but we picked it for my girlfriends birthday because we thought it was going to be amazing.

Bottom line- delicious food and great service at reasonable (for sushi in Palo Alto) prices.Food: had the sashimi regular which was really great- high quality fresh fish and high quality fresh wasabi. Also had the spider and Shawn rolls both of which were tasty. My kids ate all the salmon sashimi in about 2 minutes so I can't attest to how good it was but they seemed to love it. Nabeyaki udon was tasty and soft shell crab salad was also good. Service: very attentive, kind, refilled out tea and checked in on us multiple times.Admittedly, I'm a bit of a restaurant snob and typically we try to go to 4+ star restaurants, we came here because our Japanese friends said it is one of their favorites. We eat at lots of the great Japanese restaurants around the peninsula and thought the quality of the food and service were certainly up there - definitely better than the current overall rating of 3.5 stars on yelp. Lastly, the staff all seemed to speak Japanese which tends to be a good sign.
