The two employees I encountered the day I went were both rude. One ignored me completely and the other was very short with me and seemed annoyed with my question, which was where do I pick up my order". But my goodness was that hummus delicious. I had a much better experience with service at the Oren's Express.

The server was awful. I don’t remember having such a terrible server ever while appearing respectful on the surface.First of all, I wanted to add a different side and was prepared to pay the difference, but the server without any explanation.He also didn’t give our party the option of paying separately.To top it off, he didn’t even provide me with the receipt and I didn’t realize until getting home that he had simply charged me extra gratuity without telling me, even though he had the audacity to give me the option to tip more (not knowing he had already added a hefty tip).

In Palo Alto for work. This was my first stop for lunch. Wow, just wow! Being Jordanian I appreciate authentic Middle Eastern food. The owner of Oren’s is Israeli. He owns a few of these. I spent time speaking with the GM, Susan, who was such a pleasure to chat with. I ordered the chicken skewers, which were made from thigh meat and cooked to perfection… Incredibly juicy and well seasoned along with the side of hummus and Israeli salad was a phenomenal meal. Warm pita and the delicious mint tea, reminds me of home. The baklava (which I forgot to snap a pic because I ate it) is delicious and not over powering sweet.There is an outdoor area perfect for people watching while you eat. Especially, if you’re traveling alone. If you are in the Palo Alto area, make sure to stop here. I will be back!
The food is pretty standard, nothing exceptional or special. The mint tea was simply hot water with a few mint leaves thats it! We were seated indoors right by the entrance, which meant there was someone brushing up against my back every 60 seconds. We asked the male server if we could move to the adjacent table so that we could be away from the entrance door and the server declined even though a bunch of tables were empty. He said our alternative option was to be seated outside which we agreed to. Once we were seated outdoors there were two other tables in the same row as us. The same server decided to seat another couple right next to our table instead of leaving the middle table open so everyone has breathing space to eat. I could see a malicious smile on the servers face as he guided the couple to the table next to us as he knew i wanted to be seated away from other tables. Fortunately the couple told the server they would prefer to keep the middle table open and would like to be seated on the next door table which is just more comfortable for everyone as the ables are all crammed.

Great place and great atmosphere... I really liked the conceptThe food arrived a little cold and the pitas were thawed and heated in the microwave and this was felt, however the hummus is not bad at all and definitely satisfying.
