Peri Peri chicken choices are good and the sauces are delicious. Service is fast. Place has average bienve but is clean.Located opposite to Zareen's on California Street. Good value for money.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while now and we were in the area today so we decided to go since all the other places we were looking into had a wait. We should've walked out after waiting to place an order. We were in front of the register for a few mins and no one acknowledged us at all. The restaurant was not busy at all. There were 2 guys in the front just standing around. Then when one of them finally realized he went to the register. Not even a hi or anything. Just stood there waiting for me to tell him my order. Had no enthusiasm at all! Placed our order then after I sat down he told us they don't have cassava fries and offered regular fries instead. Not a big deal. The food took a long time. There was a big group from the table across from us that left when we got there and pretty much the table was left uncleaned till we were leaving. They also played the same song over and over the entire time, song title was Deep End. Food finally came. I ordered my 4 yr old the kids chicken tender meal. He couldn't eat it due to the chicken being extremely dry. We ordered the original meal and got both mild and medium option. Couldn't really tell the difference on which one was what. Pretty much the chicken was just slathered in their sauce which was really salty. The veggies were those frozen store bought medley that was really soggy. The only part we enjoyed from our meal was the fries and that's not saying much since how can you go wrong with fries. We were just watching the workers hangout and eat their ice cream cone and using their phones. Really regretted coming here! Overall, if I can give this place a ZERO for both food and service, I would!

If i could give zero star i would . I am currently at the place and had a food with my colleagues and ordered the food to take home. When i got the food i noticed that it was sauce on all the chicken versus i asked to put the sauce only on wings. I asked the cashier and she rudely said talk to the cook. I went and talked to the cook and cook said he is nt willing to make it right. Never will comeback again

I'm going to start off by stating that I can't claim how "authentic" The Port of Peri Peri might be. This isn't because I have 'no clue' what Portuguese food is like, but because it has been 35-40 years since I've had any home cooked Portuguese food. Was it good, and will I return? Read on..........I'll start with the service, primarily because several others have commented on the service being 'good'. The truth is, at least with my experience, it's a bit of a "mixed bag". The gal at the counter was pleasant, and smiled a few times (to myself, and others when they ordered)...but, the lack of anything resembling 'personality' made the experience somewhat "strange", almost disconcerting. I've dealt with customer service people before who lacked personality, and I don't really have anything negative to say regarding those experiences...but, this one was 'unusual', to say the least. If I could put it into better words, I would. As for the food, itself, there was nothing spectacular about it...but, it was definitely good. The Peri Peri sauce, I feel, is what 'made' the chicken...it certainly was flavorful. At the same time, chicken should be able to "stand" on its own, without any sauce, and I'm not certain this chicken could do that. The coleslaw, while somewhat 'plain', was still quite good, and one of the more flavorful coleslaws that I've had in recent years. As for the rice, nothing spectacular, but still flavorful. Finally, in regards to price, yes (as some others have pointed out), it is a bit on the pricey side...but, no more pricey than the majority of the other offerings on California St. This is, after all, Palo alto, where things do tend to cost "a bit more". Although I spent a little more than I intended on spending, I certainly wouldn't consider the price 'unreasonable'.So, would I return? If I happened to be in the area...and, if I didn't feel like Indian Pakistani (Zareen's is directly across the street)...then, I'd say there is more than a reasonable possibility that I would return.

I got a full platter with chicken. The chicken was good with a relatively spicy mild sauce. The sides (corn & casava fries) were dry. The meal itself was about $50 for 2, which is high but unfortunately standard for the area.

At first glance the place was like a ghost town, so I was kinda expecting the worst. but once I ordered I was blown away. That sauce is truly amazing

This is the worst restaraunt service I been to, she didn't give me the free rice and charged me extra. She even told me she will give it to me. These people are embarassing you should never order from them. I ordered for a large group of people and they left out the free rice and instead gave me corn. And I was standing right there and telling them in front of them. I think they did it on purpose, the lady her name was Manuta she's an old polynesian lady she's anti racist to good ol muslim folks. She even told me she will give me another free rice but she never came through on promise to me. And she really promised it to me straight away to my face. Woh aap koh chaaval bhee nahin dete. You need to ask them and force them to give you the free rice. And the mexican cook in the back he straight lied to me his name was Roger he told me he was gonna give me the free Large rice and he crossed it out and put medium with a small little smiley face. Edit* And she even charged me extra for it I will definitely exterminate them/please call them up and make sure your order is right. The owner will set them straight make sure you specially tell them that.

Not a great restaurant experience! The chicken itself is pretty good, spice levels are serious and the meat is moist. Recommend to do takeout or doordash for the chicken if you wanna come here. The in restaurant atmosphere really needs work. To the restaurant staff and owners, the whole place feels very unprofessional. Either step it up on the service, or embrace the casualness. We went in with a big group and we needed to move 2 tables, so we just moved the trash off of a used table onto the clean table next to it just because there was no where to put stuff. Either hire actual bus boys to clean up the tables, or put a trash can in the restaurant and have people bus it themselves. By the time we left almost every table was covered in used dishes because no one was around to bus them. You couldn't sit down at a clean table even if you wanted. Also I don't even know what this was, but a few times throughout the dinner there was a super loud buzzing engine sounding noise coming from the kitchen. Just random and weird... Finally, the sides at this restaurant are the saddest sides I've ever met. The steamed vegetables are the same ones from elementary school.

Ordered BBQ burger with Cajun sauce.Burger was juicy with well cooked chicken.Little pricey as the burger does not come with fries.

I'm from England and love Nandos so much that I even went there on my first date with my now husband. If I could have served it our wedding, I would have. And this is pretty close, the chicken wrap with cheese really really hits the spot. It does break my heart that they don't offer pineapple as an add on. Also the potato salad was disappointing- next time, I'll try the cassava!

Please do not get what i got!! I had the lamb chop with some chicken. The chicken wasn't the problem..the lamb chop was. The lamb chop i got is nothing like the lamb chop i know. It was like someone cut off the meat part of the lamb chop and gave me bones. I was basically eating bones for my meal. They were also a bit above average price too. If you come here get something else. Get the chicken. Get the burger. Do not get the lamb chop

This order was to go, so I don't know much about the interior or say much about their service.I ordered grilled spicy chicken tenders with a red-skinned potato salad. Awe man... Spicy is a hellacious experience here. As for the potato salad, it was kind of bland.

Delicious chicken with a good range of spice levels and delicious sauces. I recommend the chicken sandwiches and wraps. Our side of corn was supposed to be mild but tasted spicier than my medium sandwich, so I think they made a mistake. But every other time has been perfect.

Great value for palo alto food. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I found the sauce on the chicken was quite tasty. The combination of spice and lemon zest was something I haven't had in quite some time, and paired well with the grilled corn.
