My cousin went to this restaurant few days ago with me. The service and food are both great. This is an American-Japanese fusion restaurant and we just had perfect steak and fish filet, also the waiter is fantastic, very friendly and talkative. I'll go back again for sure!

I enjoyed everything about this experience. The waiter was very helpful answering our questions and choosing a bottle of wine that went with my fish and her steak. We both loved our meals. Never have I been served a fish dinner that arrived at the table HOT! It was very delicious. The Wagu beef was melt in your mouth tender and the flavor was wonderful! The red wine was perfect with my succulent fish (I'd never heard of this fish and cannot remember what it was). The cotton candy was an added bonus! I'd love to have another meal here!

I strongly believe that The Sea is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Bay Area. The Sea is by far the place to go for special occasions because they will go the extra mile to ensure your experience is unforgettable. From the toasted sesame croissant, to the buttery Ora King salmon, tender mussels and lobster fried rice, to the luxurious ube tiramisu and chocolate cake... everything was perfection. I have been to many Michelin Star restaurants in California, NYC, and Europe, and was still deeply impressed by the quality and attention to detail at The Sea. I was further impressed by Ricardo and the team's generous hospitality that brightened my day. I will be coming back soon! I love the outdoor dining that is so clean and safe with great air circulation. We only do outdoor dining for safety reasons and I am grateful that The Sea provides a beautiful outdoor dining option. Thank you for an amazing Easter Brunch & birthday celebration!

Highly recommend! My colleague said the steak was the best he'd ever had. Lobster Bisque was the best I ever had, and I'm from New England. No big deal, but I wanted to give future diners that Uber or GPS, you will get directions to the hotel across the parking lot. :). Enjoy!Vegetarian options: They had a vegan entree on the menu which is rare for a gathering of 20-30 people.

We went here to celebrate a birthday and were impressed with our server who was polite, knowledgeable and friendly. One of us had some dietary restrictions that were graciously accommodated by the chef. We were also given some other wonderful alternatives to what we couldn't eat from the menu.Everything we ordered tasted delicious. We were pleasantly surprised with not one but two birthday treats - a bite of cake and giant grape flavored cotton candy! None of us had had cotton candy in years and it made for a fantastic opportunity to reminisce. The restaurant is pricey, which is not unusual for a fancy steakhouse in Palo Alto. Will go back again for sure!Vegetarian options: There weren't many vegetarian options on the menu but we were told the chef could prepare the dishes with some modifications and make it more vegetarian friendly. We greatly appreciated this.

It has been a while since I've been back here. The last was in 2017! My husband brought me here to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted with such eloquence by the two hostess in the reception area and quickly led us to our table. After being seated, I was given a "Happy Birthday" card which was such a nice touch. We were given the wine and drinks menu and shortly after we were greeted by our server, Stephen. As always, the service was superb and the ambience is always romantic. Spacing in between tables was perfect to keep conversations more private at bay. Our order was taken and we were given some bread rolls and garlic biscuits to start off with paired with what looks like butter that was made the night before or that morning. I could tell it was churned fresh. We ordered the steamed mussels, filet mignon and the wagyu strip steak. Oh the steamed mussels were so delicious! The filet mignon and wagyu strip was also very flavorful and tender. I should've asked for medium well, but the medium was soft. We couldn't finish our main course since we were so full from the bread and the mussels. But we did save room for dessert. For dessert we got a complimentary mousse cake for my birthday, and we also ordered this chocolate bombe with devil's food cake and espresso with amaretto ice cream. It was sooooo good. On top of all the sweets, we were presented with a pina colada cotton candy. This is what I always look forward to with any of the Alexander Steakhouse restaurants is the cotton candy. Alexanders and The Sea has always been a part of our celebrations and will continue traditions with them. Thank you for the fantastic service and superb food!

We decided to do a splurgy parents' night out/late Valentine's Day. We went in not knowing what to expect and left so happy! The whole experience start to finish made us feel so special and satisfied. We had the best service, and the food was seriously the best! We didn't have any steak and kept it to all seafood, and I kid you not, every single bite was to die for! highly recommend the hamachi shots and lobster rocks!

The salad was average, the soup of the day was delicious, the Hawaiian sea bass itself was good. The vermicelli I felt like was a poor pairing for the sea bass. It threw off the dish a bit, kind of reminded me of childhood sopa de fideo lol. The medium rare steak was chewier than I'd expected from an above average steakhouse. The hot tea was great. The dessert was wonderful.

We splurged on Valentine's day and came here for a celebratory dinner. Service: There's really only a few experiences I've had in the Bay Area where I felt like the server just held our hand throughout the meal in a way that I felt a bond to them afterwards, and this was one of those experiences. Our server was just top-notch, super friendly/warm, giving us suggestions, making us feel like us enjoying the meal was his number one priority. Ambience: romantic, upscale vibes. Sometimes I find steakhouse atmosphere to be too stuffy, but we had a fun time here. Wine: I was intimated by the enormous book of wine bottles. Just once I would love to dine with someone who orders $1000 bottle wines... I purposefully chose the cheapest wine by the glass and enjoyed it a lot! Food: They start off with a amuse-bouche as well as a small basket/assortment of complimentary bread We also had the grilled octopus as an appetizer, which generally I'm not a huge fan of, but my husband really enjoyed. We both ended up ordering fish for our entrees, though my husband was tempted by the red meat options. Again, our server did a great job explaining the differences between the fish. My husband likes spicier dishes, and also chewier fish- he loved his Monkfish dish. I love buttery/fatty super tender fish, and he recommended their Mero, which was just perfect. I enjoyed the soy glaze, and the bed of chopped vermicelli noodles and edamame that it came on top of. For dessert they gave us a huge complimentary cotton candy . We also ordered the Pretty in Pink panna cotta. I liked that the fruit flavors weren't overpowering, but otherwise the dessert was fairly average. Our neighbors ordered the Burnt Almond Bombe which looked really good! Plenty of parking in the lot.
