“I have known about Mongolian BBQ & Grill ever since I was a student at Los Angeles Valley College, which is right across from this restaurant. I eat here from time to time. Here is my breakdown of this place:Location & Parking: Located across Los Angeles Valley College, Mongolian BBQ & Grill is a small and very discreet “hole-in-the-wall” restaurant meaning you sometimes may be the only customer there. It is located in a plaza and parking is always available.Service Experience: Once inside, the owner greets you creating a welcoming atmosphere. He’s attentive and helpful, particularly in refilling requested meats promptly. The restaurant follows a “Do It Yourself” concept where customers assemble their 2 bowls with a selection of meats, vegetables, noodles, and sauces. The staff are friendly and willing to offer guidance if needed for those who are new to the place. Note that additional charges apply for overfilled or extra bowls. There is also a nearby hand sanitizer to sanitize your hands before and after handling tongs.Menu and Food Selection: The restaurant’s format allows customers to choose their preferred ingredients, providing clear instructions displayed above the selection bar. The noodles, vegetables, sauces, and egg fried rice are delicious, although the meat quality sometimes is not the best, occasionally proving difficult to chew. I have attached pictures of the food and menu.Budget-Friendly Experience: Despite the occasional issue with the meat texture, the overall value for the price is acceptable, especially considering the reasonable pricing. This restaurant provides a cost-effective alternative to mall-based Mongolian BBQ places, offering late hours compared to those typically found within malls which close pretty early.Overall Recommendation: For a budget-friendly Mongolian BBQ experience, Mongolian BBQ & Grill is a great choice. While the meat quality might vary, the noodles & vegetables, affordability, and late operating hours make it a worthwhile option for those seeking Mongolian BBQ outside mall settings. I love supporting small business and this is one of them. I am very surprised this restaurant is still operating after so many within this plaza have come and gone.Vegetarian options: Variety of vegetables to choose fromParking: Plenty of parking within the plaza“

“The food is absolutely delicious. Always delightful. Looks similar to any diner atmosphere, but with awesome choices of food or plates. One plate or all you can eat. Several dinner choices with extras. I always get #3 so I get a good selection of extras like a couple of fried shrimp, an egg roll, etc. I also like the white rice which I add to my bowl. Just a hint, pile your bowl to about double the size, like piled as high as you can, because the food really shrinks when it's cooked. The first time I went I didn't know, and I ended up with a half bowl. Now I end up with leftovers.Vegetarian options: The bar of fresh veggies is plentiful and even has a spaghetti noodle on it. It has water chestnuts, mushrooms, onions, spinach, broccoli, etc.Parking: The parking lot fills up at the beginning and end of the karate classes next door, but generally right in front of the restaurant they keep cones in several places for the restaurant parking only, move the cone and the parking is yours.Kid-friendliness: They've always brought a bowl for noodles and veggies that your child may like. They also have several options of sauces so you can add a sauce from plain to very non spicy options, to very spicy. You make the sauce to their liking.Wheelchair accessibility: On the first floor, with many tables that have chairs they can pull away for you to pull up to. You can always tell someone with you what you'd like, or your server can help you. The veggie bar is about waist high, so you might need the help.“

Chan's Mongolian Mongolian • $
9301 Tampa Ave FC1, Northridge

“I don’t think people realize how good this place is. First you order, either you just want the noodles, or add a side of rice and soup for an extra $2. I usually just get the noodles. After you order, they give you a bowl where you would choose your proteins. Either pork, beef, or chicken. Then you hand them your bowl once your protein is chosen and the staff chooses your vegetables for you. They also have tofu if you prefer that over the other proteins. And then they ask you if you want it spicy. And finally, they cook the food for you. It only takes around 4 minutes. Proteins are cut thinly so they cook fast. You don’t have to worry about it being raw. Of course, don’t expect excellent quality , it is mall food after all.“

“Fairly average Mallgolian. Would be better with more/better sauce options I think--instead of just spicy or meh. Service is usually great, when there's enough people working!Vegetarian options: Definitely gives you the choice to not have meat!“
