The food was cold, the service is always slow, and no matter how many times I return I'm disappointed.

Sorry to see this place close!! Have been going for breakfast for years as our splurge and to get a specific dish -what happened? Went maybe 2mo ago- always for our favorite "Eggs Southwest " no one else makes... ugh so sad.... Loved their music, atmosphere & breakfast...definitely a loss

Not suprised it closed...the cafe de la hoya was the worst i ever had, the sourdough toast tasted like white bread and my friends bacon seemed old and recooked and NO KETCHUP...weird...hardly anyone there too should have been a sign...and the poor waiters no personality or slno smiles, nope..again not suprised it closed...

Closed - say it ain't so!!! This was one of my favorite Breakfast spots. I stopped by right now for breakfast and it appears they have permanently closed their doors. Sad! It is hard to find good spots like this.

Wanted to try a new place. Have driven by many times. Decided to try it for Sunday breakfast will family. Came here for late breakfast and the service was great. Variety of food on menu was good. Food tasted great and the atmosphere was very inviting. Definitely will come back. Highly recommend.

Like others have mentioned, this place is a bit pricy considering the portions you receive. $12 for eggs with potatoes and cheese served on a plate the size of my hand? Yeah... no, you’re better off going somewhere else. I was hungry again the moment I walked out the door.

The soda is $3.50 with no refill, which I found out only after I asked. I asked if it stated that on the menu. It does not. The waiter said it's because it comes from a bottle. He wasn't very helpful... and he didn't even bring the bottle to the table. It was a very small glass with lots of ice. Good food but this kind of service is no bueno.

Bartender is nice. Food is usually good. But there are more than a couple of people there that should be trained on customer service.

I I'll tell you up front this review is all about the Monte Cristo sandwich. It's not a dish I get very frequently where, mostly because they are hard to find on menus and they are so rich with all that jelly. The first one I ever had was at Disneyland at the Blue Bayou next to the Pirates of the Caribbean when it first opened up in 1967. No one has ever beat the one at Disneyland until I had the one at Cafe Verde. Theirs is really terrific and sets the bar far too high for anyone else to match. It is my gold standard for a Monte Cristo. The crust on the sandwich is really nice and crunchy and the thing is huge. They cook each slice of the bread separately, so it's crunchy the whole way through. So often when others that make it, it come out mushy like soggy French Toast and greasy. The ham they use is thick, tasty and juicy. The sandwich is almost too big, but I manage to eat it all. If you look up recipes on the internet there is never any mention of tomatoes. But, here's where they set themselves apart from everyone else, they use tomatoes, go figure. The tangy acidity of the tomato lightens up the sandwich and helps cut through the otherwise very rich and sweet ingredients. It's the perfect combination. So needless to say you won't find another one quite like it. And yes, I have had other things on the menu and they are all just as good. And the service can't be beat. Oh, by-the-way they only serve the Monte Cristo on Sunday.

Lovely spot with vintage charm. They have a huge cocktail menu with classic drinks I had never heard of before! We enjoyed a romantic meal outside.

A group of 4 went for lunch, seated in a room with no other diners. Very slow to come to the table for ANYTHING. You get the idea, water, orders, clearing, etc. We ordered the special of the day, 3 fish tacos. Took a long time to get the food. Tacos were made with fish that still had all the skin on which made them very fishy and unappetizing. The best thing on the plate were the potato chips. Sat in front of dirty dishes and empty glasses for a long while before we were able to ask for the check. Won't be back.

FOOD GETS 4 stars, Service gets 1 star. We arrived at 8:15 am. Took them 15 minutes to bring water. The server did not understand me when I said Huevos con chorizo with eggs whites, no beans. They delivered my wife's order, did not bring silverware. Brought me Huevos Rancheros - then took 20 minutes to fix the order. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT but the service was really bad.

I have been an avid fan of Cafe Verde for over two years now - nothing but praise for their food and service, until today. I went to enjoy the Chilaquiles Verdes. Today, I did not, because there was a hair in my Verde sauce. Yes, a hair. I did not make a big issue about it but HAIR!! The waiter was nice about it and apologized and offered to make a fresh plate. Any normal person would have probably said "hell no!" and left. I did not, I took the new plate and watched every bite before I ate it. Ewwwwwwww!!!! when we asked for the bill which was split two ways - I was over charged. This had to be corrected! I am sure every business will have unsatisfied customers and make mistakes, but to find hair in your food!! Nah! I am out. For good! Cafe Verde, you are slipping! Call the Department of Health!
