The cupcakes taste like CAKE, I know you are probably thinking like, "DUH!" But, honestly some cupcakes are too light and dry while these have the perfect density!

Dots is well known in Pasadena for having fresh, tasty cupcakes; however, there are a couple of issues that prevent us from returning. 1) They are constantly OUT of flavors and substitute at their whim. Don't bother going at the end of the day because all the popular flavors will be sold out and you can't get anything with vanilla or chocolate in it. Even when we order online 24 hours in advance of pick up, they end up substituting about 4 to 5 of a 12 cupcake order with flavors we do not want. What's the point of ordering in advance if you are not going to provide the flavors on the menu? And they could have substituted with flavors that we chose that were available instead of sticking us with leftovers. Of course, if you pre-order, you don't find out about the substitution until you get home and open the box. They could have let us know beforehand with a call or even at pick up so that we can choose different cupcakes or cancel the order. 2) They need to have a better pick up system and store front. We ordered online, expecting it to be a quick pick up, because after all, we planned for the pick up time AND paid an online convenience fee. What they do not tell you is that there is a shelf against the wall with pre-orders and I could have just walked in and picked it up instead of waiting in line for other customers to gaze at the cupcakes in the glass case and ask questions about the ingredients and "what do you recommend". They need to ask people who enter the store if they are picking up pre-orders instead of waiting for their turn at the front of the line to tell them their orders are all ready. Defeats the whole purpose of a pre-order if you still have to stand in line and wait for other customers to choose their cupcakes. Separate the lines for those who want to choose their cupcakes and those who are just there to pick up!!! Thankfully, the cupcake trend is on a downward spiral, and other dessert places (ie bundt cakes, susie's cakes) are becoming more popular, so lots of other options out there right now that have better operations and inventory.

Seriously the best cupcakes ever. I wish we had one in Orange County. This place is better than sprinkles or Susiecakes. My favorites are the Mostess and the Vanilla. But honestly all the cupcakes are delish. Customer service is unbeatable.

This is my cupcakes to go place when someone asks me where to get the best cupcakes in town. I have introduced it to many many friends of mine and they all love it very much. This review was a throwback during the pandemic time. I ordered a dozen for my coworkers on St. Patrick Day with total 7 different flavors. I walked in to order and it was a pleasant experience. Cute and cozy inner decor in the store with proper precautions during the covid time and reinforced on face-mask wearing and staffs had gloves on the whole time. Will keep coming back :)

Very good cupcake place. I ordered 4 dozens individually wrapped cupcakes for an occasion and work and they organized it so well. Each box have a little window to view the cupcake. You do need to familiarize yourself with the flavors but I got the assorted and they did a very good mixture of various cupcakes. Their cupcakes are like Sprinkles quality but half the price and good for any party occasion. I realized they also have dinner meals and some brunch items, which I have not tried yet. I will definitely try them next time.

Best cupcake place. It is nice to just be able to walk up. Mini cupcakes are a plus because can taste a bunch of different flavors without having to eat a whole cupcake. Got a box with 6 cupcakes. The minis are popular with the kids too! The cupcake to frosting ratio is perfect. The frosting isn't overwhelming and it doesn't just fall off. The cupcake is not messy at all. Came on a weekday afternoon so there was no long line. Quick service. Staff is masked. There is street parking. Quick trip. All the flavors were delicious. Vanilla, chocolate, red velvet. And they have even more flavors for chocolate and non chocolate lovers. Definitely have to try when in the area!!

I just love these cupcakes. They are so tasty and not super sweet like some cupcakes. They are perfect portion of sweet and favor. Mini cupcakes are light and airy. I highly recommend to try.

I got a one vanilla cupcake for Nurse appreciation week from my employer. It looked pretty, but It sucked. No moisture, no flavor. It was crumbly, tasted old and tasted like cornbread with a little frosting on top.
Ordered and picked up yummy cupcakes on the same day.

I love Dots Cupcakes! They have a great selection for their cupcakes. I must say that these taste amazing and it is not overly sweet. I believe that is one of the reasons why I keep coming back. I have tried the following flavors: vanilla, chocolate, caramel and carrot! My favorite flavor is the carrot! The cream cheese is perfection and you get bits of carrot shavings and walnuts! Yum

I'm all strung out on these cupcakes. No really. I have a problem. If they have the one that looks like a hostess cupcake... eat it. Also the (I think lefleur?) caramel one with flake salt on top!!! You probably can't go wrong with whatever you get.
