Great BBQ and other selections but can never recommend. Do not order to go either. Staff doesn't check and got the half the wrong items, twice on the same order, yes, two times they gave me the wrong items, each being a different wrong item. The 1st was peanut nuddles when garlic rice was ordered and send was meat and rice for a vegan instead of the garlic rice. And while my food was home getting cold I got to pick up the the so called "right" items. Lot of I'm sorry. No recognition of the ruined dinner for one or credit for a cold meal. So zero stars for service, and a suggestion that they shut down takeout. Also, the wrong item had nuts, glad nobody had an alergy but the problem could have been worse, and when I pointed it out they argued it only smelled like nuts. So if you have allergy, avoid for your life. I asked for a credit to my bill just now, said that a manager would need to help and got my number to call me back...still waiting. If you read this and there's no update, just don't go here, who know what they will serve you or charge you. It's not run by anyone that's serious, that for sure.

I recently visited Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ with high expectations given its reputation, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by the unprofessional service encountered at the entrance. Despite understanding the challenges of estimating wait times during busy periods, the information provided by the front guard was consistently inaccurate and misleading, causing unnecessary frustration. This repeated misinformation about how long the wait would be felt disrespectful and made the waiting experience far more unpleasant than necessary. I believe that transparency and honesty with customers are fundamental, and I hope to see improvements in this area in the future.

I’ve been going to Gyu-Kaku for 9 years now and boy have the prices progressively gone up. Happy Hour is maybe 1$ cheaper than regular prices and not much of a happy hour. It’s disappointing to see as I used to go to gyu kaku every weekend, my favorite being the Topanga mall location. Now it’s maybe once every other month, my friends feel the same, They’ve been growing and raising their prices even before how bad inflation is now.Anyways I will still always love gyu kaku, this particular experience was okay. We ordered 2 yaki shabu’s, 1 filet mignon, sukiyaki bimbimbap, and the chicken karage. The yaki shabu portions looked smaller than usual especially for the price and the chicken karage was exceptionally dry and over done.We still felt a bit hungry afterwards but we felt it wasn’t worth the price and didn’t order more. Gyu kaku is definitely somewhere you need to go atleast once for anyone whose never been, the food and meat always tastes so good! But the prices just aren’t worth what you’re getting anymore sadly.Vegetarian options: They have plenty of rice bowls, cooked vegetable options you can grill or order as small plates, replacements, highly recommend for vegetarians!

This was the first I dined at this location and was extremely impressed. We were celebrating my son's birthday and plan to come back to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday.

Overall, this place is good mainly because the quality of the meat is great. The portions aren't huge but it is very filling. I rated it 3 stars because the place isn't the cleanest and the service could be better. The reason being that when we got sat it took our server about 15 minutes to come to our table. We were confused because everyone else had a server helping the and we didn't. It good but could be better.

Terrible Service. Went on Valentine's Day. We waited for the food to be brought to the table, more than we ate. Mind you, I paid for the Supreme option for two people. The table was dirty and sticky with sauce upon arrival. I will not be returning & I recommend you avoid this place.
