Wow! Sunday March 24, 2024 4pm.It’s been awhile since I have had to deal with such a Nasty girl in public but at Maria’s in Pasadena I had to be insulted and disrespected by a girl named Denise.I ordered a small order to go and asked for a piece of bread or 2 to come with my order and she said No. You can get 4 pieces for $1.00 and you can pay $1.00. I am not going to get in trouble or lose my job over you for free bread. Ok I said. Yikes what a bad attitude. I’ve gotten a piece or 2 before from nicer people than you I guess. Yikes, This made her very mad. I was basically trying to have her loosen up and not be so nasty. And I know other employees do not like her too.I handed her my credit card and she refused to hand it back. I said can you hand me my credit card like I handed it to you out of respect and she said No. You already said I wasn’t nice so you will say I handed it to you and cause an issue about that too. Huh? WOW! What a mouth Denise has.So, let’s stand at the counter and she can & will continue to insult me until I get my order. I’m almost 70 so Denise working in the public, able to lash out at customers is shocking.I looked inside the bag for plastic silverware and of course none and no napkin. So I asked the young man for it and Denise said, you have to ask for it. It’s against the law for me to give it to you without you asking. Hmmm, not one other restaurant has ever told me that in the last few years. Not one. Only Maria’s Italian restaurant in Pasadena. Was her meanness and disrespect necessary? I don’t think so. Obviously she hates her job and needed to lash out.She showed me. Denise showed me with a smirk on her face that she can say whatever she wants and there are no consequences. She showed me that I contribute to her paycheck no matter her actions. She showed me…..she thinks.Beware people, you’ve been warned. The young tall man at the counter was very sweet.

Our meal was exceptionally good last night. We started with the rosemary bread basket which was soft with a nice crust. My sister loved her spaghetti and meat balls. My chicken piccata was sautéed in lemon butter, wine and capers and was delicious. I substituted the spaghetti side for angel hair pasta. The veggies were a bit al dente but heated up nicely as leftovers. The portions were large so plenty leftover for another meal. Service was excellent. Very attentive and cordial. Definitely would go back.

This review is for today's visit specifically. So, we have lunch at the Pasadena location practically every weekend. We enjoy the staff and the food. Today, my partner ordered the Hash & Eggs from the brunch menu and asked for the eggs to be cooked over medium, he explained to the server that he doesn't care for runny part that comes with sunny side up eggs. When our meal arrived the server informed him that the kitchen will not cook eggs to order, just sunny side up or scrambled. What? What kind of restaurant will not serve eggs cooked over medium rather than sunny side up? Is it that hard to flip the eggs over to cook for a few extra seconds? Also, if this was the case why did the server not inform us right after ordering, so the decision could be made at that time for sunny side up or scrambled or to order something different before the meal is completed and served? When someone pays $100+ (including tip) for meals at a restaurant, you'd think you could expect food prepared the way you'd like. One unfortunate visit like this can make you re-think your weekend lunch choices.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not enough space between tables for a wheelchair to pass.

First I want to say I'm disappointed We walk in, a party of 3, no greetings or welcomes. We pointed to seat ourselves So we sat. And sat. And sat, only to be ignored by every single staff who walked by. We went offered water nor bread. 10 mins later we literally had to flag down the waitress who walked passed our table at least 3 times without any acknowledgment whatsoever. We asked for a menu. We were given 3 menus. One would assume it was one per person right? But noooo it was 3 different menus. One for wine, lunch and the other for dinner. We had to flag the waitress down again to give us all a menu. After waiting 15 more minutes. We had to wave the waitress over again to ask for water and bread. Finally we get to order. We ordered shrimp scampi, (very watery) Lasagne (pretty Good and penne pasta with house marinara (bland). I sent the Scampi back because it was not very good. It was watery and tasteless. I don't know why people come here. I won't be returning or recommending any of my friends to ever come here. Customer service sucks.

Stopped by as a single last night. Despite being crowded, I was seated quickly on the patio outside. Ordered a cup of chicken soup and chicken Marsala. The soup was a touch salty, but satisfying. My main course came quickly and was delicious. I'd certainly order it again! My server was attentive and friendly. Just a bit chilly on the patio - but, hey, it's wintertime. Exceeded my expectations.

Very disappointed. They got the order wrong and I called them to explain, and they did apologize, but offered no solution. I paid for a BBQ chicken pizza but they did not give me a full BBQ chicken pizza as it was missing ingredients. I understand mistakes happen but the fact that I called and they didn't try to fix it means I will it be going back. Too bad.

It's been years since I've gone to Maria's. I used to always go on the west side. I met a friend here for lunch a couple weeks ago and I'm glad I picked it. It wasn't very crowded on a Thursday, and the service was great. I had the chicken primavera and it was delicious. A generous amount, enough for lunch the second day. Very fresh and healthy. my friend had a chicken sandwich and the French fries were perfect. All in ask a terrific lunch spot. I was surprised it wasn't busier. I'll have to go back with my kids.

Great atmosphere, good for a gathering with friends or a date night out. Heated patio seating with great service. Parking is shared with other businesses and depending on the night, you might park a little bit away. Plates are large!

Me and my boyfriend went to Maria's after our shifts and we're told it'd be about a 30-40 min wait. We were put on a waitlist and so we waited outside to be called. Mind you, their waiting area had one heat lamp and so we went to wait by it. After about 30 mins we check with the hostess (terrible at her job btw) and she told us it'd be just a few minutes more. We returned to wait outside by the heat lamp when a worker came and moved it away from us for no reason. So now we're waiting outside in the cold. We begin to notice groups of people walking in and being seated right away. So after about an hour we walk to up to the hostess who seems to have forgotten all about us (even though she's literally holding her makeshift "waiting list" in her hands) She again seats a party of 3 and tells us she's waiting for a booth for us even though we opted for first available to begin with - after over an hour of frustration we left. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!!

I came in last Thursday with my family for a quick lunch, during lunch it was a bit busy but our server Hailie was very attentive! Anything we asked for she got us right away, and also knew the menu very well. Her suggestions were good. I'll be coming back again!
