This place was good, but definitely hyped up a lot more than it should be... Came here for lunch with a couple friends. I got in line around 12:30pm. There were 6-7 people ahead of me. It took me almost 20 minutes before it was my turn to order. They have a lot of online orders that cut in front of the people ordering in person. I ordered the 3 spring rolls, I tried the lemongrass chicken, garlic shrimp, and nem. They were all honestly pretty good, but if you've had spring rolls before, it was nothing special. I got the house spicy sauce which was pretty good and have a decent amount of heat. I added a cafe su da, and my total came out to be just over $20. Pretty steep for a spring roll lunch. Overall I'm not sure I would come back again, the wait was definitely not worth it, and the price was a little on the high side for what it is. I think the way the stations are run could be improved to increase efficiency. Currently there is a starter that takes your order and lays down your proteins. Next you will get 1 of 2 finishers that will fill the rest of your spring roll, add your toppings, roll and package your order, then move you on to the cashier. I think this could be improved if the finishers had dedicated stations and did not move along with you. There should be a middle person that does the rest of your fillings and toppings, then the finisher just rolls everything.

For fast food this place is really, really good! Extremely fresh. All the staff wears sneeze guards and gloves when handling the food. It’s fast HEALTHY food. Highly recommend paper rice if you’re in the area and want a quick meal. GF options too. The lychee lemonade is tasty. ?

I really like this place. I am addicted to their chicken , lemon grass sandwich. Today , I picked one and when I got home, I noticed and half of it had mayonnaise . Why? Is not in the description on their menu !!! So why did you put it ? I always made sure I emphasize NO hot chili. It makes me sick. Two weeks ago , I drove under the rain at night. I get home and the first bite I took , I noticed it was spicy. I tried calling and there's no answer of course. They are very busy. This one is in old town Pasadena. I think they are rushing too much and don't pay attention to the written order. The employees are very young and polite, however, they need to be more careful when making the food. I had to pay parking on that rainy night , then I couldn't eat my sandwich. I do appreciate their kindness . They offered water to my service dog. That really warmed my hearth. If it weren't for the 2 mixed up orders , I would will give them 5 stars. The ambiance is secondary to me. I never sit in. The place is way too small and their tables are always taken. Thank you once again for being mindful to animals.

I'm bummed because when this place first opened, they had an amazing beef salad bowl. Now it's very much "build your own" and the beef is made differently. The wait was longer than expected and I only had one person in front of me. Coming in, staff did not acknowledge or welcome me but instead just stared. Disappointed because the food is overpriced for what it is and it doesn't even taste like authentic Vietnamese food. Very Americanized.

After hearing all the buzz about this place on TikTok, I finally decided to give it a try, and it totally lived up to the hype. Despite the long line, which stretched over 30 minutes, the chef patiently guided us through the ordering process and how to customize our spring rolls. Having grown up in the 626 area, I've had my fair share of spring rolls, but Paper Rice easily tops them all. Their customizable option to build your own spring rolls is a game-changer. My go-to combination includes baked Nem as protein, house mix, and "everything" topping, paired with rice noodles. And that citrus ginger sauce? Absolutely phenomenal! While I sampled the shrimp and braised pork belly options, it was the baked Nem that stole the show for me. The only con would be that the space for seating is very limited.

This place is a great place to stop for a quick bite but needs to be able to wait in a pretty long line during peak hours. The food and all their sauces are scrumptious, pricing is reasonable and the people who work there are quick at fulfilling your order. Try not go to during peak if you can or you will be wasting most of your lunch time in line.

This place was like the Subway of spring rolls. Place is very busy line out the door busy. It's well worth it. Customize the spring rolls however you feel like having them. If spring rolls aren't your cup of tea then you can have them make you a bowl. Banh mi is also available too. Small space to eat inside. Spring rolls were good but the sauce is what makes it. Great place to check out when in old town. Don't forget to close the door once you make it inside. You'll see trust me.

Delicious and fresh food. A quick and healthy bite to eat. The shrimp egg rolls were so good. The only down side is the space. There’s rarely any tables or place to eat.

Absolutely love spring rolls, but have never encountered much variety. Usually choices are veggie or shrimp. So stumbling upon a place that lets you customized your spring rolls every step of the way sounded amazing, & I'm happy to say was worth it. They offered every choice I'd want in a spring roll, and the end result was delicious. Fair prices for the amount of food you get. Will definitely be back when I'm in the Pasadena area.

Great place for quick lunch, you just have to come at the right time since it can get pretty busy. We love the variety of the ingredients and how you can make your own rolls or bowl switching it up every time. The rolls taste amazing, fresh produce and the sauces are great too!

I've never been to a place where you build your own spring rolls! It was a fun experience the servers were nice and helpful. Small inside but we got our food quick and just found other outside seating!
