Great fancy place to come with friends. Reminds me my favorite Urth Café.
Too loud. We could not talk or carry on much of a conversation without almost shouting. Huge echo with all the hard surfaces. Quite unpleasant. Food was good and servers were attentive

Service was very slow. We sat down at 6:15 and did not receive water or our drinks for almost 40 minutes. They claimed they were short staffed, but if so, should have told us so at beginning

True Food is one of those chain you go to because you know exactly what you are going to get. The food was good, server was friendly, and the location was convenient to our event later that evening. I highly recommend going when you can eat outdoors which is a much nicer experience than rather stark and utilitarian indoor space where we sat. The good news about being consistent is that there are no surprises.

Olive was fantastic. The place was crazy busy and she handled it beautifully. Someone should obtain the Pasadena Distinguished Speakers schedule and have extra staff those nights because so many attendees have dinner at True Good first.
As we were ordering, waiter informed us that several dishes were unavailable. Would've been helpful to know this before perusing the menu. When our food did arrive, one dish was like warm at best and cold in the center. The other dish was overcooked and mushy.
