Needed to grab a quick dinner before getting on the road. This was a perfect spot! First time with this kiosk ordering/pick up but great for my situation. Chicken cabbage bowl was so delicious and gave me enough energy to get home from my 2 hr drive. Not a sit down spot so just expect to grab and go! But I am craving another bowl already!!

Ordered on doordash -- wanted something healthy and tasty and found Umami Express. I got the Chicken Rice Bowl with szechuan chili oil crunch and lemon garlic soy sauce. The flavors from the sauce could've been stronger, but this could just be me needing to adjust my palette back to healthier foods after being so used to eating processed/fast food. I loved the tofu and water chestnuts to give it that nice crunch. Overall pretty good value if you're looking for something tasty and healthy!

Couldn't find it the first time I went, (gps led me to the alley entrance of a parking lot behind) and the front desk guy wasn't nice... (he is always eyes on his phone, and has never made eye contact on subsequent visits) BUT WOW!!! The food was so much better than I expected. Definitely worth everything else, especially since they're open late. Ambiance? It's a ghost kitchen, so nothing to mention there, other than parking is easier, and safer, at the Rite Aid next door.

I have to be honest, it’s a very convenient way to get the food. However the food wasn’t good at all. Rice was so hard and I don’t think they cooked the proper way. I mean hard, it’s really hard to chew them, almost like raw rice.

Umami Express stands out with its commitment to quality. From the first bite, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. The attention to detail in each dish is remarkable.

Yummy, healthy, and reasonably-priced bowls. I especially like the shredded chicken and tofu. Start your year right with nourishing food. I'll be coming back soon.

Pretty tasty, decently healthy meal for a good price! I ordered the the chicken bowl on DoorDash, and hoped for the best. Glad it didn't disappoint! I noticed they had other locations around SoCal so they must have had some success. Will order again.

I'm on the fence with how I feel about Umami Express. My husband and I were in a rush and were looking for healthy food that we could pick up quickly since we had somewhere to be. I came across Umami express on Yelp, and it peaked our interest, so we placed an order, and it was ready within 20 minutes, which was awesome. We both got a Protein Lover Rice & Cabbage Bowl with the garlic sesame soy sauce and the Szechuan chili oil crunch. The portion size was really large, so I definitely would say the cost is pretty affordable given that we both had leftovers. Unfortunately, both of our bowls seemed to be missing the chicken and only had pork and tofu. There was still plenty of protein, but it was a bummer to not get to try the chicken. We also did not have a way to call the store to let them know of the mess up in our order. The tofu was okay, but it was a little dry (maybe because we came at the end of the night?), and the pork was pretty good. I really loved the chili oil crunch. We both weren't particularly fond of the garlic sesame soy sauce, so I would definitely try one of the other sauces if we ever come back. Overall it was decent. I really like that I can get a meal here that is gluten-free and refined sugar free, but I would probably go with different proteins the next time.

I was solo & looking for something healthy, tasty & relatively easy on my stomach before I had to fly all day & settled on this location - so glad I did! Ordered the wagyu bowl with rice & then the creamy garlic sauce & Szechuan chili oil (probably not so easy on my stomach, but tasty!). Also added the smoothie! So good!Ordered delivery - was trying to have a low-key night to myself, it was quick & prompt at least in that capacity - but I must say, seeing the business's response to customers on Yelp gave me a very warm feeling inside and was half the reason I ordered from here.Although I can't speak on the aesthetics of this establishment, my heart & tummy are happy - I highly recommend Umami Express and if I find myself back in LA soon I'll most definitely be bringing my S/O here. Great business model, great oversight, well executed.

Really solid for the rare occasions I feel guilty enough to eat more healthy. Quick easy ordering pickup. Not really a salad guy but the protein greens was definitely good at a reasonable price point. I will be back

the food was AMAZING. I got the protein lover greens bowl with a sesame sauce and the chili oil and it was perfect. The food was so fresh and I got my food so much faster than they said I would! The guy helping at the front was so lovely too. Fast, convenient, and delicious!

Those shredded pork combo are something really addictive. I order that almost everyday.

This is a kitchen not a restaurant and the food is truly awful. It seems like you're getting gourmet level Wagyu beef and it is NOT wagyu. It's akin to the lowest grade of pot roast. To add the the weirdness of this cafe that doesn't exist, they messed up my delivery and I COULD NOT GET THEM ON THE PHONE. They direct you to outside lines for your delivery service and ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I got transferred to Postmates and they couldn't see any sign of them triggering a delivery. They refunded my money and 90 minutes after I ordered I finally decided to go to the "restaurant." A nondescript, janky building with no signage that says "AllGood." I went inside and explained the problem and my food was there waiting for Uber Eats. I did not order thru Uber Eats. Avoid. Below par food and it's actually a factory like kitchen that cooks the meals for "restaurant" fronts. I can't imagine that's conducive to 5 star food.Because of the business owners response, I'm raising my rating to 4 stars so I don't mess up their new ratings and because their pork made delicious enchiladas the next day. Really good pork. I supported local restaurants and business during COVID and I miss the long time local places that didn't make it. Some places that had been running for 60 years I'm still mourning. It's like losing family. I will try this place again.
