We celebrated our 25th anniversary here at LPC. It was something to remember. Courses and wine expertly timed and presented.

The best food I've had in the US and some of the best duck I've had in my entire life of eating a lot of duck! I'm French, love French food, very happy to have found this delightful place close to home. The staff was nice and helpful. The mood felt intimate and the service was smooth despite the restaurant being packed. We'll come back, for sure!

This was our second time at Les Petits Canailles and, even though we loved our first time, this visit was incredible. We did the trust us menu and it was amazing from start to finish. Our waitress, sommelier and the supporting team were all exceptionally helpful, warm, and great to chat with. We can’t wait to come back our next trip to Paso Robles!

Les Petites Canailles offers an exquisite fine dining experience in downtown Paso Robles. As the name suggests ("little rascals" in French), the atmosphere is lively with a bit of playful mischief. The interior is modern and hip, though it does get noisy at peak times. However, the food and service make up for any issues with ambient volume. My wife and I recently enjoyed an incredible meal here. To start, I had the Dry Aged Duck Two Ways, consisting of beautifully roasted breast meat alongside a decadent duck confit cannelloni. The fatty, tender duck was perfectly complemented by the bittersweet cacao jus and tangy fermented blueberry purée. Crispy chestnuts added a nice textural contrast. My wife loved her Seasonal Pasta - delicate trumpet-shaped noodles in a creamy, mildly spiced sauce with plump shrimp. We also shared the ratatouille, a fresh take on the classic with al dente vegetables in a bright, herbal marinara. And we couldn't pass up the legendary creme brûlée, a smooth, set custard with a crackly burnt sugar top. The supporting cast of a pistachio financier (a sort of mini cake) with berries, cream, and tart Greek yogurt ice cream put it over the top.The attentive staff guided us through the menu and provided spot-on wine pairings, like the Site Red from Larner Vineyard that accentuated the rich flavors of my duck duo. With Chef Asseo's immense culinary talent and passion for local ingredients shining through, Les Petites Canailles is a must-visit for fine French dining in Paso Robles wine country.

I'd go make the reservation now instead of reading reviews ?Everything was wonderful. The food, the wine, the staff. I got the surprise me course with the wine pairing and every item had novel (surprising ?) flavors and went spectacularly with the wine. I had the chance to interact with every member of the waiting staff plus the sommelier and they were very friendly and attentive. I didn't have to ask for anything because they go above and beyond. After a long day of wine tasting this was the perfect way to end. I am definitely coming back.

We chose the ‘Trust Us’ menu which was the Chef’s choice. 5 courses. It was wonderful. The food was awesome. The service was great. The sommelier gave excellent recommendations. The setting is casual so don’t expect white tablecloths, Which I do prefer when paying these prices. It just makes it feel more special. (IMO)

This was probably the best meal I had in 2023. I'm so glad we were able to get a reservation for my birthday. The ambiance is truly perfect, small enough to feel intimate but still spacious enough you're not sitting on the neighboring table diner's laps. I had to do the 'Trust Us' tasting with the wine pairing. Each course was perfectly paired with the wine and did not disappoint. The flavors were so fresh and amazing and the plating was top-notch. The chef even came over to wish me a Happy Birthday. Truly an amazing experience!

Wow. One of my favorite meals of 2023!!! This place is fantastic and definitely deserves its Michelin. My fiancé came and I came to Paso for wine tasting and made a reservation at les petitioned canailles many weeks in advance and were very glad we did. The restaurant was booked up in the days leading up and was full but not cramped when we entered. The hosts were extremely friendly and greeted us with a decent sized wine menu and gave us many recommendations. We got the leeks a la plancha, steak tartare and burgundy risotto to begin with. The steak tartare was fresh and flavorful and the freshly toasted bread was a great addition. The leeks were highly reviewed but I thought they were rather bland, albeit beautiful to look at. The burgundy risotto was favorite of the appetizers. The creamy sauce was filled with cheesy favors which paired well with the garlicky escargot. Loved the bright green color and presentation of this dish as well. For mains we got the Criee du jour, or catch of the day. It was white fish which was cooked perfectly and very tender. The clam ragout that it was served with was so umami and flavorful.I got a white wine to pair with my dish and the experience was absolutely divine! Perfect date spot for paso. Will be coming back here and trying the "trust us" set menu.

I spent a weekend in Paso Robles with five of my best friends, and we had an amazing dinner at Les Petites Canailles our first night in town. We were celebrating both our precious time together and Esther A.'s birthday, and the restaurant met the occasion with warmth and abundance.I made an 8:30 Friday reservation just over a week in advance. We were a large party, so this required an email but was otherwise easy. The night of our dinner, LPC called at 6:30 to let me know that our table was open whenever we wanted it. Our group, which included four moms, cheered when we got this news, and we Ubered over and sat down for a more civilized 7:00 supper. The restaurant was cute and inviting, with a homey bistro atmosphere. We got a round table at the front of the dining room and settled in for a wonderful night. The service was chef's kiss exceptional, thanks to the efforts of a pregnant waiter and a giant sommelier (I think our waiter was Kerby, but I'm not sure I got the somm's name; anyway, if management is reading this, he's the guy who's like eight feet tall). Everyone we talked to was really friendly and helpful. We had some allergies in our party, and the staff took them seriously without acting put upon in the least. And speaking of chef's kiss, Chef Julien Asseo visited our table near the end of our meal. He was very personable, and we got to tell him how much we loved his restaurant. When in Paso Robles, one wants to drink wine, and the sommelier helped us out with some great recommendations. We ended up polishing off three bottles of local pinot noir, the last two they had of the Aequorea Seafarer and one of the Delmore Humboldt County. Both lovely wines, and reasonably priced. The food was absolutely delicious. We opted to order a la carte and dine family style, though I'm sure the tasting menu is an experience. We started a round of appetizers. Bread and butter weren't free, but they were good, Wayward levain rustic bread with Stepladder cultured butter. The steak tartare was superb, silky and flavorful, prime hanger steak with traditional condiments, confit egg yolk, and fresh horseradish. The LPCaesar was a stellar Caesar salad, with boquerones, rustic breadcrumbs, and preserved Meyer lemon. My favorite starter, though, might have been the leeks à la plancha, even with the omission of pine nuts (my friend's most critical allergy). The leeks were perfectly cooked, served with an herb vinaigrette and espelette pepper. The mains were all excellent, not a skip in the bunch. The moules frites Hortense were plump and tasty in a lick-the-bowl sauce, with spicy 'nduja, garlic confit, and fresh herbs. The steak au poivre was an impeccable "Black Opal" Australian wagyu hanger steak in a green peppercorn sauce, served with homemade frites. Doubling up on those frites was a good move. They were perfectly golden and crispy, great with the sauces or the house mayo. The seasonal pasta was a mushroom trombe, elegant trumpet-shaped curls of pasta with mushrooms and herbs in a rich, creamy sauce. The fish of the day was dry-aged striped sea bass, served with sunchoke and clam ragout, creamy nage, herb pastoral, and a bright, bursting sprinkle of trout roe. When our mains were cleared, our waiter surprised us by bringing a mousse au chocolat with a birthday candle, on the house. It was airy but lush and dense with Valrhona "Manjari" 64% dark chocolate, finished with crème Chantilly and chocolate pearls. We also ordered Mamoune's crème brûlée and the seasonal dessert. The crème brûlée was smooth and elegant with a delicate, crackling crust, made from a family recipe. The seasonal offering was a beautiful apple tart shaped like a rose, served with hazelnuts and a warm cider made with local apples. We had a blast at Les Petites Canailles. It was a highlight in an extremely fun weekend. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a special meal in Paso Robles, and I hope to go back next time I'm in town.

Outstanding restaurant with a French influence. I had the fish of the day which was cooked perfectly in a delicious broth. Sides are separate. My favorite part of this restaurant, besides the monkeys climbing around the ceiling, are the sommeliers. They seem to be everywhere, and generously share their knowledge. It's a great experience.

Les Petites Canailles deserves 5 stars. The food is outstanding - innovative yet comforting dishes that are beautifully plated. The chef and staff are extremely friendly and attentive. They clearly take pride in the small details that make dining here a pleasure. I was impressed that i never once had to pour my own wine - it was always taken care of for me. Every dish was served with a punch of bright flavors. This is a very special restaurant with a warm, welcoming vibe. Highly recommended!Parking: Plenty of street parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible.
