Cool Dad

Amazing people and delicious wines. Super hosts as well. Thank you

There are countless Paso Robles wineries. There are very few that offer the experience -- the outstanding wine, the peerless hospitality, the beautiful and peaceful location -- that Thacher provides. All with zero attitude! Make it a must.

Thacher wine is a family owned winery with an authentic farm like atmosphere . It's about 25 min from downtown Paso Robles. It has old stables and barns and chickens and rooster running around which I loved!!! This was a second winery of the day and we were feeling pretty good lol! Our reservation was for 3:30 pm so by the time we got there it wasn't very crowded at all which was nice. We were greeted right away by Beck, who let us sit wherever we'd like and we chose to sit outside next to the heater. He also provided blankets as well which was nice since it was a bit chilly. Becks energy was so contagious and that really enhanced our wine tasting visit, and we really enjoyed his thorough explanations of The Oxymoronic theme with their wine and label- love it! Beck gave us an extra wine rosé for our patience, as he was caring for a couple things as well as serving our tasting. Our fave wines were Triumvirate reserve zinfandel (100% Zinfandel) and Original copy( Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot). Although there was no food served we didn't mind at all and were able to grab a bite later once we got back into downtown Paso Robles. Our tasting cost $20 a person and since we bought a bottle of the Triumvirate and left a tip our overall cost was $114.79. We would definitely come back to Thacher in the spring when it's warmer and sit outside again to enjoy the wine and watch the chickens!

We've been members of this winery for a few years and hands down absolutely love this winery. The tasting experience is always so enjoyable and the people that work here are very pleasant. We live in OR and always look forward to our trips to Paso and particularly Thacher to enjoy their reds. Highly recommend a visit.

This was our last stop on our wine tour. We had a great time at the previous tasting room and not many of us were doing a tasting. After telling our server the manager came over to give us a lecture on how some of us were not allowed to do a wine taste. We completely agreed with what he said it just was a moot point because it was already discussed. The people who hadn't drank at the previous place did want to do a tasting but they took so long to serve us they only got to do 2 tastings before we left. There was hardly anyone there but based on the managers attitude it was pretty clear we were not welcomed.Chris was super pleasant and helpful.

Great experience and fantastic Rhone style wines with knowledgeable staff. Down to earth vibe, tasting is compd with a 2 bottle purchase. Nice indoor tasting room or ourdoor options. Refreshing alternative to some of the newer high-pro spots that seem less focused on the actual wine.

My husband and I absolutely love this winery. The wine is some of the best we've tasted in Paso Robles. We love it so much we even became members of their wine list. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great Instagram worthy photo ops here as well or you can sit back and take in the beauty without your devices.

Love this place! So many great wineries in the area but this was one of the first that I Joined the wine club. Solid wines across the board, super sweet family owned business and the grounds are gorgeous. Product and experience are excellent here. Highly recommended!

Had a great experience here at Thacher for the following reasons: _it's a smaller winery with a family vibe._friendly servers_beautiful, rustic setting with horse, goat, ducks and chickens to hang with_nice wines (especially the rose and whites)Definitely worth visiting!

Recently did a road trip into Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo; as much for the beaches, elephant seals, and the wine. We stopped at Thacher winery and very pleasantly surprised by the knowledgeable staff and the wines they poured. Tranquil setting and leisurely afternoon. Staff talked about the wines, the soil, and the family history. Great afternoon

We had another AMAZING visit to Thacher Winery! Their wines are absolutely wonderful, the grounds are so beautiful and just so relaxing. The staff is always so friendly and eager to spend time talking more in-depth about Thacher wines! Chris was our host and we had such a great engaging experience we could have stayed all afternoon! Thank you Chris, your knowledge and passion for wine create such an incredible experience! Can’t wait to visit again!

We recently visited Thacher Winery for the first time and will definitely be back. The wines were great and at a good price point and the service staff were attentive and gave us a good history lesson about the property. The setting was so peaceful to enjoy our wine tasting.
