We were taking a day trip up to Pismo Beach to meet friends and not knowing the area, I checked Trip Advisor and Yelp for options. Ventana Grill was highly recommended on both, and it did not disappoint. The main room has amazing views of the ocean and comfortable seating. The menu is excellent and all of us enjoyed our meals. Our server, Neil, was great and we were able to have a relaxed and comfortable meal and visit with friends. If you are looking for a peaceful spot with excellent food, Ventana is the place to be.
We have been going to Vantana Grill for at least 10 years now. The quality of the food has gone down a little and the service the same. It felt like we where a inconvenience to the waitress. And I had noted it was for a birthday celebration, and we did get any acknowledgement about it.

Part time residents, VG was our go to. For various reasons we hadn't been in a while so we really looked forward to our return. The food, service, atmosphere were all better than average. Small distractions prevent me from giving 5 stars. Having to ask for bread (tortilla) plates and Tabasco (with chowder), salt & pepper—all coming after a bit of a wait, crying children at next table, etc. I had grilled mahi-mahi, which was a special. Except it wasn't—but good. My wife had the seafood pasta which was very, very good.

Excellent view. Our table was ready upon arrival and located by the window with sea view as required. But our server was helping tables in two opposite sides of the room. We got the appetizer before the wine. The food was great

Restaurant overlooks the ocean with a stunning view. Seating is spacious and open. Home made tortillas are delicious. The food was amazing and staff I believe our server was Zach was great. 10/10

This place is such a vibe ! Service was 10/10 food super delicious 10/10 must try the Lobster mac&cheese ! There was hand made tortillas ? drinks were 10/10 as well ! Waitress was sweet and attentive! She was amazing!

We found it underwhelming as fish was spiced inadequately (meat-direction spicy) while some boiled veggies on the other plate had no salt or even pepper. Overall, service and view are good while food is not worth the price.

This was my first dining experience at the Ventana Grill in Pismo Beach, California. I treated a friend to lunch and we were both pleased with the experience. We were greeted by a friendly and professional manager who seated us by an ocean view table. My only complaint about the seats at this large booth is that they were not springy and rather low compared to the table height. Not a big deal. Our server was friendly and offered a good description of the menu items and the day's special. Many of the lunch items were Mexican dishes and of course fish. The food was reasonably priced and served without much of a wait. The Green Chicken Enchiladas and Birria Street Tacos were very good! One little additional disappointment was that out server did not ask if we wanted coffee or dessert and forgot to include a pen to sign the bill. Again, no big deal. The ambience is a fairly large room that sits ocean-side of a good size full bar. The decor looks slightly dated but well-maintained. This restaurant is located just a minute or two off the 101 Freeway at the North end of Pismo Beach. I would readily recommend the Ventana Grill to friends and family.

The view was fantastic and our server was attentive and wonderful. Food and drinks were delicious. The homemade tortillas upon sitting down were so good! Will definitely be back on our next visit to Pismo.

Dinner in 45 minutes.... Very disappointed. Server, Electra was more interested in turning table. Taking our salad before we were finished. Taking my wife's cocktail when it was only half empty. Leaving Dessert menu promptly after entree was delivered, then returning minutes later to see if we cared for dessert!!! We were still eating dinner. My wife's fish special was dry and over cooked.

Awesome view and food quality was good. Had the coconut halibut and was hoping for a little more coconut flavor but overall tasty. Hubby enjoyed his salmon. The halibut ceviche was delicious.

This restaurant was in walking distance to our Hotel. I ordered the Pork Chop dinner with a Sparkling Pom beverage. It was cooked perfectly good and had great flavor!The food, service and view were amazing and will definitely recommend and return at my next trip.
