Closing permanently on July 4th.Great moto bike destination ride through some twisties. Big breakfast and lunch portions.Although the garlic fries are amazing hand sliced potatoes......the garlic fumes in your helmet are awful!Excellent outdoor, lakeside seating.Wheelchair accessibility: Gravel parking lot with dirt/grass ramp access to outside seating.

We found this place on a whim and will be back regularly. Frank and his team were wonderful, friendly and gave exceptional service. We sat at a lake facing table and the view was amazing. We even got a show from the local bald eagles, that have a nest close to the diner. After the breakfast rush was over Frank took the time to introduce himself and chat with us a little giving us a history lesson about the area and community.

We went there for Sunday brunch and it was the best brunch experience I have ever have! The mouth watering food, the beautiful and peaceful lake view, the lovely birds (bald eagle flying over the lake), the gentle butterfly breeze, and to top it off, the owner/chef Frank and Heidi and their helper are super friendly. Unfortunately, the diner will be closed in July. I heard they're going to have July 4 BBQ party. Don't miss that! And you still have some weekends to experience their amazing food, view and services!

What a hidden gem! 3 of us stopped for a quick snack before heading down mountain for dinner and ordered the Loaded Fries. They were the best ever - loaded with bacon pieces (that were tender and yummy), sautéed to perfection mushrooms, homemade fries, the most amazing creamy garlic sauce, cheese and green onions. The loaded ingredients were not just set on top of fries but layered throughout the huge serving - sauce on bottom, then fries, then loaded ingredients and all continued to top layer. Unfortunately we were so in awe we just dug right in and forgot to take a picture. Service was great and outdoor tables overlooked the lake. 5 star all the way around!

This spot is bomb. Everything we tried was fresh and made to order. Lots of seating outside. The day use area is 6 dollars. It's never really busy. A beautiful area.

What an absolute hidden gem! Food was excellent, and the surroundings were gorgeous. Will definitely come here again! That drive up Mosquito road though? Crazy haha

Ordered the Reuben and a brake fast burrito and they were both incredible! Huge portions and super fresh meals. Their fries are perfectly crispy and hand cut with the skins still on. Perfect pit stop if you're driving through or camping at the lake right around the corner.

We love Franks, all the food is great you can't go wrong with anything, lakeside view, to top it off you might see a bald eagle fly by. Perfect for the family.

While the drive may be a bit challenging in rainy conditions, this hidden gem is well worth the effort to find and will make you feel satisfied. We were a party of 15 and had a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional, and the service was equally impressive. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Frank's Diner and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique dining experience. After our brunch, we took a nice walk around the lake before heading back to the next adventure.

Quite an adventure to eat here. First I called to ask if open and if there was a wait for a table. I kept being told it's raining and didn't understand this response I found this listed on Yelp as Placerville and expected it to be downtown This quaint diner is about 40 minutes off 50 on a treacherous narrow road one part you go over a small single lane wooden bridge with a rapid River below The rain comment began to make sense Loved the place with view of Finnin reservoir. Delicious food and found an easer road back. Worth the trip

Frank is such a nice guy. We had ribs, a cheese burger and a club sandwich all with hand cut fries. The in house sauce and from scratch menu is top notch with a beautiful view while dining outside. The smell from the smoker will draw you in like Yogi bear to a picnic. Highly recommend to anyone and we'll definitely be back. 10/10 dining experience.Parking: Nice sized parking lot right out front

FLAVOR (5/5): The portion is huge here, so generous it fed me for 2 meals and kept me full the whole day. The Reuben was soft and flavorful! Even reheated it tasted wonderful! INSTAGRAM WORTHY (5/5): For a $15 sandwich you get a lakeside view with outdoor seating and peace. The food looks great and you get an amazing scenery while eating. SERVICE (5/5): We need to protect Frank at all costs. Once I walked in the door, he was helping a gentleman with a large takeout order and told him to take his full bottle of ketchup to save the customer some trouble. Just from that small interaction I knew he was a kind business owner. He greeted me and my puppy always with a smile and took my order, cooked me food and served me. He's a one man show folks! When he brought my food outdoors to me he brought me you guessed it, a full bottle of ketchup, and everything I would need to eat my meal peacefully. I can only wish that he's still here in a few years if I visit the area again. TAKEAWAYS: Please spread the love for Frank. Yes, it's a bit of a drive out of your way, but it's a lakeside mom and pop shop with the kindest owner, and great food.

Great food and friendly staff. The outdoor seating area has a great view. Enjoyed lunch while watching a bald eagle up in its nest in a tree. The loaded fries are amazing. Even just a half basked is big enough to share. Make sure you bring your appetite. Would definitely recommend! Looking forward to another visit so I can try other menu items.
