I really want to like this spot but it's just a bit uptight. Of course it's in sleepy Playa Vista but management and staff make you feel like fun is not allowed. It's a sports bar after all! Maybe they are stressed out but better idea is to loosen up a bit and let the people eat wings and cheer for their teams.

Satisfying portion size. Tasty. Courteous service. Luv the Ambience, the Lit up Fire places. Just that Openness Feeling

Gulp is a nice lunch getaway in Playa Vista with both inside and outside seating. The staff is very attentive and brought water without even asking. I order the nachos and they were FULL! No shortage of ingredients or chicken on the nachos. The chips were crispy and easy to scoop a good amount of toppings without breaking. Unfortunately I didn't grab any photos because I ordered togo, however this restaurant is a gem.

Super Bowl Sunday was amazing! The place was packed and they had a special menu just for the game. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Thank you to the team for putting on a great event.

I don't like writing bad reviews but I couldn't resist. Went to Gulp on Super Bowl Sunday. Ordered a BLT-the worst I've ever eaten so I didn't. Left early to be with a friend but ordered ribs for take out. My friend and I tried to eat the ribs that were so overcooked and dry with barbecue sauce burned on that they were inedible. Plus the ribs were beef not pork which was not listed on the menu. I'm pretty sure they were several days old. Yuck! Tried to eat the mashed potatoes which were tasteless. Pretty hard to ruin mashed potatoes. The entire South Bay has pretty lousy food but Gulp wins the prize for the worst. Service was fine with a nice crowd but who cares when the food is so terrible it has to be thrown out.

Relaxed atmosphere, great for a game day, great food, rec the deviled eggs and cobb salad!

Food isn't really that spectacular but we are locals and we are happy to walk to a place that serves consistent quality and generous meals with very pleasant staff. I give it a 5 because I forgot my credit card and remembered the last place I used it was at Gulp. The hostess looked through all the credit card in lost and found and found mine after her second try. She didn't give up and it tells me the place is honest and trustworthy.

My favorite burger! They apparently grind the meat in house so I get mine medium rare with sweet potato fries. Can't say much about the other food because I keep ordering the burger. They are very dog friendly outside. Also a nice selection of beers and very friendly staff. This place is one of the reasons I have any cash on me-- 10% cash discount on Sat-Sun (per menu), also on Fridays (per waiter and personal experience). Easy street parking if you're driving.

Gulp has always been our go to local sports bar to watch the games. The hostess dropped off our food and accidentally spilt the ketchup all over my tan sweatshirt along with on my pants. Accidents happen and she apologized, but the fact that a manager didn't check in with us to apologize or compensate us is unacceptable with the amount that was split on me as it could easily stain and ruin my clothes. Bad customer service on management.

While the staff demonstrated kindness, our dining experience fell short. The wings were over-fried, lacking meat; burger and steak were dry, fries were peculiar. My mimosa was enjoyable, but the glass emitted a fishy odor, indicating inadequate cleaning. The absence of vegetarian/vegan options was disappointing.Got 3 plates and spent $85+

Just asked the hostess and appeared to be the manager (male) if they'll be airing the 49ers vs Philly game on at 1pm. And the manager looking guy told me "no". Thinking that he was joking I said "that sucks" and gave him a few seconds to see if he was joking and to respond. He did not. I've lived in PV since 2004 and always hoped this the sushi place a few doors down and under same ownership, would be cool neighborhood hangs. Since I live only two blocks away and love to support local I have given each of these places third, fourth and fifth chances...but the dismissive attitudes, sketchy and inattentive service of both these place keeps me away.
