Wouldn’t allow a solo diner to have lunch. Required 2 or more.

I have been to many different Korean BBQ places , and this is the place my friend recommended to me. I should say its pretty good after we have tried their food. We ordered "Deluxe Combo" from the menu, and we also ordered Beef Brisket. I'm a pretty picky person on beef, but I couldn't find any problems after I tried. The quality of the meat was really good! Compared the price we paid, it was super worth it! I strongly recommend Cut Marinated Galbi and Marinated Short Rib, its tender, juicy and flavored, we really love it! The service was also pretty good. They are nice people, they know what is the best time to change our BBQ plate. This restaurant located in pleasanton which is very close to the San Francisco Premium Outlets. Its pretty big and fashion, they even have Karaoke machine in the front! Its good for the gathering party I believe! I will definitely going back to the restaurant again. Btw, their combo has 15% off right now, they even have 50% off on two kinds of meat!

This area in Pleasanton has a lot of great restaraunt options, but Bak Kung Korean BBQ was personally for me one of the most meh Korean BBQ experiences I have had in a long time. I went a while back during a day that was super hot day and when I walked in to the restaurant there was definitely no AC running and the ventilation. The service was friendly, but not the fastest. The experience was definitely worsened by having to cook meat on a hot grill while there is no AC in 90 degree weather. The Japchae was just filled with almost more cabbage than noodles and the quality of the meat we ordered was subpar. Every piece was very chewy and tough and flavor wise it missed the mark. The bar where you get your sides also left a lot to be desired. Like a lot of recent low reviews for this place, I also had similar experiences with very high prices and poor quality in every aspect.

Great service. Loved the galbi jjim. And for some reasons their water is the best we've had at a restaurant. Definitely recommend.

Just to remind me never come to this place again. Meat is extremely hard to chew. Doesn’t worth the price at all.

Kind of disappointed. To start, the sign says Korean BBQ but the menu says Asian Fusion. So they seem kind of lost of what they are. The menu and food was meh, but pricing and portion size isn’t really great. Portion size is mainly for a party of 2-3. They have combo platters, but again, only for 2-3 size portions. So any party 4-6 and you decide to do the do the combo, expect it to be 140$. And for it to be “Korean BBQ” you get your bon chon, you are limited to just kimchi, peaches, celery and almonds as all you can eat. Any other sides would be purchased.Aside from that, service was okay. Just kind of irritated that we had told them that there was a broken dripper on our table, they had told us that “it’s okay, there’s nothing inside it” which why would it be on the table then or if it’s empty please give us a new one. But neither happened AND it was filled and dripping sauce in front of them.Overall, if you’re in a pinch, maybe head there. But if you want decent Korean BBQ I would suggest to find another place.

We went there on Friday afternoon, it's empty with no customers except us. This's not an authentic Korean restaurant at all. The side dishes are weird with sugared walnuts, steamed cauliflowers and celery. Is there really such thing? We have bibimbap, beef bulgogi with rice and beef noodle soup. The beef noodle is the worst thing ever, soup and beef are both tasteless, as you can see from the photo I posted, I just ate the meat and whole bowl of noodles was there untouched.

Friday rush hour, it was empty. I learned my lesson, should’ve turned around when I see the emptiness, the crowds don’t lie.We ordered the combo meat, some sides like kimchi pancakes, corn cheese and steamed eggs. Beef was the toughest I’ve ever had, I mean, how tough can it be when it’s brisket and sliced thin? Trust me, it’s hard to chew, even for young people like me. The japchae was soo watery and salty, the kimchi pancakes are dry, too thick and too much batter, not enough kimchi. The steamed egg was burnt at the bottom. To sum it up, I enjoyed nothing from this restaurant, worst Korean BBQ experience.Oh did I mention that I got a fly companion while I’m eating?

We visit the place thinking as Korean BBQ. They are not a legit Korean BBQ at all. Maybe Korean style or want to be. But they use quality meet though.

My bf was craving Korean BBQ after we shopped at the outlets and this was the only place we hadn't tried in the area so we gave it a go! The restaurant itself is nice and modern, but I was honestly disappointed with the food. This place isn't authentic Korean bbq, although I do appreciate the effort. We ordered a set combo which came with four different kinds of meats: brisket, pork belly, bulgogi, and kalbi. I will say their kalbi and bulgogi marinates were spot on and delicious, but the little things such as the banchan, rice, and even lettuce for the lettuce wraps weren't consistent with authentic Korean bbq. They have a banchan bar where you can get your kimchi and cucumber kimchi, etc.I wasn't too fond of the food, given that I am a snob for Korean bbq since I'm Korean, but it was mostly due to the limited menu options and high price point. Our total came out to about $125 before tip. We ordered the set menu, one beer (modelo), and corn cheese. I think at that price point, you'd expect a little better but everything was still good and edible. I'd come here if I'm on a time crunch for some Korean bbq but I wouldn't come here for authentic Korean bbq or a good price point either. Overall, this place isn't bad if you want to give Korean bbq a try.

Not my favorite. For the price I paid...the service was lacking, the food was disappointing and my family left not at all satisfied. I didn't even want to take the leftovers home. This must be new management, as I used to like this place. The AYCE menu is gone and the food is lacking a lot of flavor. Everything is extra sweet and the Bonchon was not Bonchon. It was a station at the counter that had a few sides. The kimchee had no flavor and like I said, everything was sweet, no umami flavor. The menu is sparse and missing what I was craving...Soon Tofu Soup. What Korean place not have Soup and good Kim Chee??? Well, the kids liked their fries and popcorn chicken, so that was a plus. At one point in our meal, we saw the server come out with some stone pots with soup. I had to stop the server to ask what that was and why was it not on the menu, he said it was from a secret menu. Umm yea, I order the spicy seafood tofu soup and it was also sweet. Sigh.Order: ~$175 for 2 adults, 2 kids, not worth it in my opinion.-Premium Marinated Galbi $40+: ok, not what I expected. Came as 1 long piece of meat, thickly cut and a little chewy. For that price, I have to SMH (shake my head).-Mussels and Clams with Garlic: $21+: not great. Super sweet sauce on it and probably was previously frozen.-Seafood pancake $17: please pass on this. Was hard and chewy with bits of filling.-Jap Chae $17: so Sweet, did not taste like how it's supposed to. Kids were so disappointed.-spicy seafood tofu soup $20+: secret menu. I would also pass, lacking the right umami flavors-fries and popcorn chicken: delicious!!! Forgot how much it was, but it was the best dishes we got.Needless to say, we will not be returning. On to the next...

Never order foods from here! It’s even worse than homemade food
