ok let me start by saying the Mexican food in the bay area is horrendous as compared to southern California. I like this place alot. Mexican food isn't chicken Verde burritos. Mexican food is tacos and Carne asada plates. I thoroughly enjoy their tacos simple and tasty. I live the Carne asada plate here. yes it's 21 bucks after tax but very filling. . this place is the best I've had by far in plessanton

Came here for a quick bite. Ordered chicken tostada bowl, chicken was dry with flavorless rice and beans. The green salsa was watered down. Free chips and salsa were ok. Food looked good but had no taste. Disappointed.

I read a lot of reviews before coming here and I guess I will start by saying my tortilla was hot and not cold. I never been here nor did anyone pay me to write this. For about $15 I got a super burrito with complimentary chips and salsa. The burrito was stuffed with steak, beans, cheese, sour cream. I opted no guacamole and salsa on the side. It was good and very filling. The salsa was FRESH, very very good. When getting to the counter the lady took my order and when it was ready brought it to my table. The restaurant is a decent size and can fit a few people, they were showing the football game. I'd come back. No complaints here.

RIP OFFHow much are they paying for five star reviews? Or, perhaps the people posting the five star reviews have unsophisticated palates and/or low expectations?I have had food from here at least a dozen times--my husband smokes at the cigar lounge next door and will occasionally offer me takeout, so this has been an easy option. Unfortunately, the service and quality are woefully inconsistent. The prior reviews about cold burritos have not been an exaggeration. Make no mistake, i have also had the occasionally well prepared burrito, but last night was the final straw. when my husband got home with the food (we live 5 minutes away), his was still steaming hot, including some tortillas wrapped in foil that were too hot to hold. I was excited as I unpacked the bag, but my excitement was quickly replaced by frustration when I grabbed my burrito and it was cold. Colder than body temperature. Like, how does this happen, and how does it keep happening? Could I have reheated it in the microwave? Yes, but that would change the flavor and consistency of the sour cream and guacamole, thus ruining the final product that I expected and paid for. I didn't eat it. And we won't be going to Golden State Taqueria again for eat-in or takeout.
Great food everytime we go here. Friendly staff great food great prices and very nice dining room. We come here alot and would recommednd this place because the food is awesome.

First time here and let me say this food is delicious! I had the Al pastor super burrito and it is by far the best burrito I've ever had! New favorite spot!!
