Food was okay but service is pretty bad. Waitstaff never makes eye contact with customers so you have to literally stand up and flag them down. No specific instructions on anything. Left sitting at my table for almost 10 minutes only to learn that one is expected to walk up to the front to pay. Then there was the ridiculous interaction when I pointed at my empty glass and asked for some more diet coke. The guy said, do you want to refill or do you want a new diet coke? I said, I'd like a refill please. He says, I'm sorry we don't do refills. Then there are the sick customers. I was literally sitting at a booth surrounded by three families who were violently hacking and coughing. No one was covering their mouth. All in all this was a very unpleasant dining experience. I won't be back. They're getting two stars not one because the food tasted okay.I'm wishing I had eaten at California Pizza kitchen, right across the sidewalk.

As I sauntered into ID Cafe nestled within the confines of Pleasanton's Stoneridge Mall, my senses were immediately titillated by the promise of culinary delights. With an air of anticipation, I embarked on a gastronomic journey that would leave a lasting impression.First on the menu was the Hyderabad Bandi Dosa, a tantalizing dish that danced upon my taste buds with its intricate blend of spices and textures. Each bite was a symphony of flavor, transporting me to the bustling streets of India's culinary heartland.Following closely behind was the Sambar Idly, a humble yet delectable offering that showcased the chef's mastery of traditional South Indian fare. The soft, pillowy idlis bathed in rich sambar were a testament to the timeless art of culinary craftsmanship. And let us not forget the Masala Fries, a delightful twist on a beloved classic. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, each fry was generously coated in a fragrant masala blend that elevated it to new heights of indulgence. But it was not only the food that left me impressed. The service at ID Cafe was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that every need was met with a smile. As I savored my meal in the serene ambiance of the outdoor patio, I couldn't help but marvel at the seamless harmony between culinary excellence and impeccable hospitality. In conclusion, ID Cafe at Stoneridge Mall is not just a place to satisfy one's hunger; it is an oasis of culinary bliss where each dish tells a story and each bite ignites the senses. Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, ID Cafe is sure to exceed your expectations with its blend of stoic charm and gastronomic delight.

This was an interesting find for me and they were pretty good the first couple of trips. Food is definitely good and that's what kept me going back. The standard of cleanliness is average by US standards but better than most other Indian restaurants in this category (south indian staple). They would do much better if they raised the level on their service. The servers often talk to each other in very loud voices that drown any music or pretense of ambience. Once they serve you, they tend to forget that you exist. The last straw was when I asked for the mashed potato that comes with the dosa to be served on the side instead of making the crisp dosa soggy and the server insisted that it simply CANNOT be done, it's impossible because the chef refuses to serve it like that! While I do respect the chef's skill, I do not understand why this simple request was such a big deal.....I do wish them well and hope they will make the necessarry changes so they can be around, as I do like their food :-)

I recently discovered what I now consider the best South Indian restaurant in town, and I am compelled to share my delightful experience. This gem serves the most mouth-watering Chicken Dosa, which is an absolute must-try for anyone who appreciates the intricate flavors of South Indian cuisine. The dosa was perfectly crispy, and the chicken filling was tender, spicy, and full of flavor. But the culinary journey didn't stop there. The desserts were a revelation, with traditional options that tasted just like homemade, providing a sweet finish to an exceptional meal. To top it off, I decided to try the Masala Soda on a whim, and boy, was it a game-changer! Paired with a classic thumbs up, it was the perfect refreshment to complement the meal, adding a fizzy, spiced delight that cleansed the palate and refreshed the senses.Whether you're a connoisseur of South Indian cuisine or looking to explore its rich flavors for the first time, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. From the Chicken Dosa to the desserts and the unique Masala Soda, every aspect of my meal was memorable. I can't recommend this place enough!
