This is our 2nd visit in a month. Quality of food and service was consistently good. Servers were considerate and friendly with our 15 month old. Everything tased fresh and the restaurant looked clean. Mango lassi is one among the best in the area. Dosas were delicious. This is our family’s new favorite spot.

Like the taste of Sambar and chutneys, which has the tanginess that pops up when eating .Idly sambar combination is good. Mini idly is liked by my kids. Panner Dosa looks and tastes well. Along with vada.Overall a good place.Vegetarian options: It’s a South Indian vegetarian

We ordered 7 items today for takeout from Madras Idli Kadai. It was our first time ordering from here. All items were very very tasty and fresh. Pick up was easy and quick. Thanks to Neelima and the owner for making our pickup process smooth. They had packed our items into 2 bags, which made it convenient for us to bring them home. We also bought dates and cashew cake from their refrigerator.Coming to the food, all the items were tasty and flavorful, and the quantity was also sufficient. Special mention has to be made about the ghee podi thatte idli, the medhu vada and the pongal. The sides (coconut chutney, tomato chutney, sambar) were fresh and tasty as well. Even the cake was soft and flavorful. We will be back often to this placeKeep it up, Madras Idli Kadai!!!

After a while found this authentic tasting South Indian food restaurant. All vegetarian menu. They open early for breakfast, which is ideal. Most of the items have “with Ghee” option, go for it! Tastes really good. We tried Ghee Masala Dosa and Ghee Thetti Idli, both were equally great.Cap the meal with filter coffee.Service is quick.Only place I felt that could be improved is the cleaning of tables, and the cleanliness in the restroom.

TL;DR - Beware of leavening agents if used on their Idlis. Don't expect service. Be ready to eat in miniature inconvenient plates and sample chutney bowls.Tl;DR - I understand business is for profit and you like to use plant based plates. However, plates and your chutney cups were extra small and inconvenient to eat. Second of all, service (which is not expected anyways). Food quality and price (these days its hyped everywhere). I suspect lot of baking soda or in their idlis. Worst chutney and sambar. I didn't like it. Not going back. Waste of money. One day my sister took us to this restaurant to try something new in menu called as Benne Dosa. First and foremost, any new restaurant attracts crowds and all these business owners plan to recoup their primary investment in first few months. Everything will be above average for first few months in any new restaurant based on my experience. The challenge is to sustain. As far as I know and what I have seen, heard - most or some of Indian restaraunts somehow employ students or parttime college folks and never share tips. They work for the state required minimum wage with some minimum required break and they attract them with lodging and free food. So quality and professional service can be hit or miss. In my case, it was a hit one time and total miss second time. Lethargic and oblivious as usual even though I didnt have any expectation.Food quality - I suspect good amount of baking soda or softening agent or leavening agent or whatever on Idlis. I haven't tried anything except Idlis and dosas. So I can't comment on other items which may or may not be good.Overall, worthy for one try and when they are new. Down the line, they may go in the same route of any other worst Indian restaraunts who have to compromise on food quality, quantity and service to make profit.

Very bad experience. We were 8 in the party with 6 adult and 2 kids under 8. They gave us only one menu for six adult and asked us "are you ready to order in less than five minutes". We asked for more menu and they gave us two more. The food was good but service was absolutely ZERO / NADA. They gave us no Chutney with the appetizer that is not normal for an Indian food. We had to ask for every think such as chutney or small plates to share appetizers among 6 adults. They gave us three small plates first and I had to get up to get 3 more. They don't care about any service, but added 20% service charge as Gratuity with ZERO / NADA service. Such service charges for the large party was not listed on the menu. On the top of that tipping option was given at the payment time.

Raagi dosa and filter kapi are awesome. Friendly service and nice ambience . Hidden jewel in east bay.
