This restaurant is gone. We went there yesterday, they still had a sign at the street but no restaurant was there. We called their phone number and mailbox was full. We were meeting out of town friends and were very disappointed it sounded so good. We found another restaurant near which turned out to be good. It was La Creperie in La Verne.

Owner and staff are amazing in conversation and invitation! We are new to the area, we like to support mom/pop small businesses.I typically do not make reviews, however, this one must be discussed. The food, that we chose, was a joke. Everything I saw on the menu was overpriced, based on my comparisons of the same or similar items at other restaurants. We ordered 1 of each below bill total $37.46 ($$$).A-Belgian Waffle ( w/side of eggs - extra charge)B-Breakfast BurritoA - Belgian waffle was extremely small with a flavor profile worse than McDonalds pancakes. As I type this my wife, has literally been so disappointed at the experience of eating this that she hasn't stopped talking about it (40 minutes and counting) or comparing it to her worse pancake/waffle across the US.B - Breakfast Burrito was quite hefty for the price. You do get your values worth. On the flip side...although, everything inside was well cooked, various textures for your buds to enjoy. The only flavor that stood out was either bacon or the potatoes, I'm not even sure may have just been salt.Note, I have an onion (allergy/intolerance) so I opted out of the salsa. You will definitely have to use the red sauce that came with this burrito to add some depth of flavor. Also, I believe they serve a green sauce based on some other photos I've seen, however, this was missing from my order.Don't let my post deter you from meeting the presence of the owner, the conversation and warmth is very much needed and should be the standard of ANY service based business. My post is merely to point out 2 menu items along with the value of that purchase.Overall, your experience may vary depending on your food selections.Be well and continue supporting our small businesses and posting your experiences so that they can listen, adjust, and grow! We are in this together.

Found this place on phone app. I was looking for a place to relax while my car was being repaired. I happened to see the owner preparing to open, because they weren't officially open yet. I told him I would come back. Get this: HE BROUGHT A TABLE AND CHAIR OUT FOR ME, and set it in a shady spot. Then he made coffee for me, a very interesting coffee like I've never tasted. When they were officially open, he brought me inside and I ordered more coffee and a cinnamon roll. Delicious! I'll go out of my way to come back here.

Cafe Eighteen48 is one of the highest rated restaurants due to the excellent quality food, superb service and fantastic atmosphere. We've visited numerous times and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The owners are genuinely hardworking and nice people. The food... In talking to the owner/chef, he is an authentic experienced chef and it shows in the food quality. Seasonings, freshness and overall flavors equals some of the best food we've ever had. Other reviewers have also rated Cafe1848 high marks for restaurants instead the same area. They have a pretty extensive menu with delicious baked items as well. My personal favorite are the Philly Cheese Steak and Beef short ribs. I can't say it enough, this is delicious food! This is one of the few places where everything we've tried has been absolutely delicious. The place is clean, relaxing and overall very appealing. Again, with all of these attributes, I would certainly ly encourage others to visit. You will not be disappointed! As previously stated, I'd have to rank Cafe1848 as one of the best restaurants in the Claremont, Pomona and La Verne areas.A solid Five stars PLUS.Parking: Plenty of parking. The business is at the Northeast corner of Garey Av and Foothill Bl. Its not clearly visible from the street. If you take the driveway just North of Foothill and hang a right, drive eastbound towards the dead-end and you will see it.

Came Sunday morning. Looked closed but it was open, small little place. Order at the register & food is brought out to you. We decided to share the breakfast burrito & an oj (bottled). They offer smoothies and coffees, have a fridge of drink options, no fountain drinks; machine says "out of order". They have 2 TVs on with news, a lot of ceiling fans so it was a bit chilly, but I bet when it gets warmer during the day, it feels good. Bottle of OJ & napkins were brought our relatively fast and then the burrito came out pretty quick afterwards. It was served with a side of salsa; a sriracha sweet chili mix. Very flavorful. Would have liked a spoon to put onto the burrito instead of just pouring it, but we made due. The burrito was a large portion. I'm glad we shared. Although we probably could've finished it on our own, we didn't leave miserably full. We were both very satisfied. Perfect amount of ingredients and almost all bites had everything in it... nothing is worse to me than biting into a burrito that doesn't have all the flavors. OJ had a best by date that had passed earlier this month, so a bit disappointed in that. My husband took his chances, I decided not too. LolReally good food, we would come back. The prices for coffees were expensive, which is a shame cause I love me a good coffee, but over $7 is a bit shocking to me!

We found this place after our original plans fell through and we are so happy we accidentally found this place!!! It's a family run place and as soon as you walk in you can already feel the cozy family vibes! The guy at the register was so nice! He told us the whole family story about where they were from and about their cafe. The loaded breakfast burrito was delicious and so were the salsas it came with! It was huge!! I also had a hazelnut latte and it was tasty too! I also tried a yummy custom made chia pudding bowl that they were able to make special for my mom which was so nice of them!! Overall this place has great food and even better people, definitely a must try!!

The beignets are as disappointing as the service. I paid for two orders of beignets and only received one but I realized it when I got home sadly. I tried calling the store and nobody answered as they were closing within minutes. I also ordered a turkey club during my visit and 25 minutes went by in an otherwise empty establishment before the girl behind the counter informed me that there wasn't actually any turkey. I'm not sure what the H was going on the day I visited but the service was pretty bad and the food was not worth the price. Lunch and breakfast items are like 15.99 and up. The beignets I did get were cold in the center and the vanilla filling actually seemed slightly frothy/ frozen and I might add they are nothing like the Cafe Du Monde version if that's what you're looking for. All in all...my foodie daughter and I were left disappointed and we will not be returning and we do not recommend eating here. I'm super patient and not overly picky but sometimes disappointment is what it is and paying for items you do not get is not okay.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. We were looking for savory crepes, and even though they weren't on the menu, the owner/chef special made it for us. I had the slamwhich, which was very tasty. Presentation/plating were exceptional - did not expect it at a small hole in the wall. The iced churro latte I had was also fantastic.

Food: A+ Service: A+Must visit. Small business and make you feel welcome. You get your moneys worth and then some. The food proportions are HUGE. The price of the meals are more than fair. (My burrito weighed at least 2-3 pounds and consisted of at least 3 eggs and meat, not loaded with fillers)The staff is incredible. They were very accommodating for a large party and checked on us often. We were helped in rearranging the dining area for seating. Very friendly staff.Kid-friendliness: The staff interacted with our children (1 year olds) and brought out high chairs immediately, before we had the opportunity to ask!

I'm still yet to try out the delicious looking food. It's always closed with no explanation on the door. They finally put up hours and it says only open for lunch. Fair enough. But then I went today on a Friday for lunch and now the sign says lunch hours only AND only Sat and Sun. I just don't understand how they stay profitable if they are never open! :(
